5* Derrick Green to make his decision "soon" per his twitter

“@diezel75_: When you plan on making that decision bro @brookyln_boii27 ?” Soon

I wonder how soon. If this could be a reaction towards the coaches picking up the recruitment on Isaac and also the recent firings. But this still doesnt entail a commitment to Michigan.
Spare me on the formating, I suck at this.

There aren't a ton of 6'3", 215-pound high schoolers out there who can do the things Eddie George did and the things Ty Isaac can.  I'm not saying Isaac will win the Heisman or anything.  I'm just saying we have a few big, bruising types, so I'm not sure what another one will add to the team.  For the same reason that Norfleet was worth a scholarship (added dimensions like jet sweeps, screens, and kick returns), Isaac would be a good addition for a well rounded backfield (speed to get outside, receiving ability, size to run between the tackles).

While I agree with this, I'm not sure it's fair to lump green with Rawls as the bruisers. From what I have seen, green is considerably more talented/faster than Rawls and so while their styles may be similar I think he would supplant Rawls not be in a role to complement him.

We've got guys like Green.  He's faster than Rawls and DeVeon Smith, but similar in running style.

We don't have anyone like Ty Isaac, and we haven't in a long time.

Green can be good at pounding it between the tackles, but Isaac has more of a chance to be a Chris Perry/Anthony Thomas-type back.

I'm a little confused when you say we have guys like Green.  The running style may be similar, I guess, but there is nobody on our roster right now with anything close to the combination of power, speed, and hands that Green has.  Green is just as fast as Isaac, he's roughly the same weight, and he's two inches shorter.  Isaac is shiftier, but I don't see it as a matter of styles.  Green is just a better back imo.

Green would be a great impact recruit.  I remember the days when I first started following the recruiting scene.  It seemed that like we always had the high impact skill players in every class (Terrell and Walker in one class comes to mind).  Hopefully, we can start getting back to that, and Green would be a good start.

I don't know if any one has already said this, but awhile back Green said that he would make his decision whenever he "had that feeling" he said it could be tomorrow or at the all american game.  I wonder if the fallout at Tennessee or the uncertainty at Auburn have changed his time table up

Landing both would allow them to stay fresh throughout the season like the Bama and UGA tandems. Gurley & Marshall (2 frosh) are getting stronger as the season goes in their pro style.

Given Deveon's loyalty, though, I don't see Hoke taking Green & Isaac even if possible. If Deveon is ready next year, then he can balance the ticket but I don't think he'll be thick enough to survive his bruising style as a frosh.

I really think that we have a good shot with Green, we were in his top grouping and with all of the coaching uncertainty we seem to be the safe pick.  He likes Oregon and Miami , but he wants to play in a Pro-style offense and he just added Miami to his list so it's hard to tell how much he really likes them.

in Russell Davis, who later played fullback in Michigan's Option I offense.

Davis, like Derrick Green, also was from Virginia, though the northern part (Woodbridge) just outside D.C.

Davis was courted by Alabama and Tennessee. He narrowed his list down to USC and Michigan.  He visited USC late, but the Trojans were going through a major coaching change of their own heading into 1975 (John McKay's last year, 1975). A few months after Michigan lost to Ohio 10-12 in Columbus and stayed home at 10-1 with  no bowl, Davis chose Michigan.

looked and especially with Fitz return next season in question why would a top RB not choose Michigan. A chance to step in and fight for playing time at a top 20 program as a frosh has to be tough to turn down.

Green tweeted this morning that coach Jackson and Montgomery will be in his house tonight. Followed by a GO BLUE!

I know, I know. Twitter, 17 year old kids, get off my lawn, blah blah.

Can't be a bad thing. Hopefully when he said "soon" yesterday he meant tomorrow. Probably not but we'll see.
