247: Michigan has #2 Linebacker Class
24/7 did a write-up of the top ten current linebacker classes for 2012. Michigan came in 2nd behind Alabama and ahead of Texas, USC, and Florida. There were no other Big Ten teams in the top 10:
2. Michigan
When putting together a good group of linebackers, it doesn’t hurt to have two of the best in the nation in your back yard. That is the case with Michigan and its instate commits of James Ross and Royce Jenkins-Stone, both in-state prospects and both members of the Top247. As an added bonus, Michigan’s other two elite linebacker commits are out of rival Ohio State’s backyard. COMMITMENTS: James Ross, Royce Jenkins-Stone, Joe Bolden, Kaleb Ringer

Well yeah, not many teams with 15 wins over the past three years have these kinds of recruiting classes, but we surely don't want to use them as a comparison for where we should be. To be in the top tier, we need to recruit like it.
Both years?
need moar slot receivers
Hoke and Co. are obviously doing a great recruiting job. And if all goes to plan, I can't imagine any team having a better D class than this for 2012.
I expect also a top 5 O-line. What holds the class back, overall, is the skilled positions. And I'm ok with that. You build good teams in the trenches, and Hoke is doing that.
This team is guaranteed to be good in a few years, no matter who is running, throwing or catching the ball. But we obviously will have solid guys there too.
Hopefully, Denard and Co. can hold the fort until these guys mature...
As I read this thread I caught the final round and the answer was "the University of Michigan retired a number for this all-American center who played in 1935".

<br>Would they have accepted "who was Leslie King?" as a correct question and would they double the reward for it?
You would be taking a chance that they wouldn't accept it.
Especially since Jerry never played as Leslie. Did he?
The skilled guys 'll come if the o-line and d are good enough.
He's an excellent LB who has great instincts. RJS is more of a boom or bust prospects. He has the athletic ability but his techniques needs a lot of work(that's due to shitty coaching from PSL). It'll be a while before RJS can make an significant impact as a LB.
2,wtf.GO BLUE!!!
I am also waiting to see if that whole coaching thing has anything to do with personnel.
I have too many LBs.
That's why I go to the gym every day.
