Submitted by We'll be Champions on

He will choose between Michigan, Bama, South Carolina, Temple, Maryland, Florida St., ASU, and USC as of right now per Adam Friedman of RIvals. Can't embed because I'm on my phone, sorry.

Per 247, Upshur actually considered committing during his visit. The Article is VIP, so I'm not going to post it, but here's the relevant tidbit:

247's Steve Lorenz also reports that we are in great shape with several other top prospects.

I will say, however, that I would have to imagine that most bagmen would not be so indiscrete as to use a medium which could be traced. Then again, these are the same people who drive around with team gear and decals all over their personal vehicle, doing things in public which scream "violation" sometimes, so maybe I am giving them too much credit.

Only 2 TEs on the roster with meaningful experience for next year if Butt stays. Surprised Shallman isn't play more TE beyond some H. Ian's ability to play TE is unknown and Winovich seems like an H if he even develops into that role. Wheatley has potential. A lot of maybes.

other than the "best HB/TB on the roster" part. I absolutely think he plays that position. In fact, I'd put money on Kerridge getting solid time at HB this year if none of the listed guys jump out to steal the job. Both would have thrived behind the OLs he had at Stanford.

Anytime I see us versus Bama I consider it a moral victory to be a finalist.

I guess Hand and Kareem haves jaded me. Hopefully Gary and Upshir are not next.

that we have an exciting new coach who can talk about making progress and returning to glory with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. This instead of a bumbling moron criminally underachieving in an incredibly embarrassing fashion during his fourth year on the job. I hope none of this matters and we steamroll all challengers this year, but I'm not a psychic, I'm a doge. Woof.

and lord knows I couldn't do any better with my degrees in bone hiding and butt sniffing, but I see no fault in stating an obvious truth. Count me as one of the fans that wanted desperately for him to be THE GUY, a lifer whose winning pedigree was only surpassed by his love for the same University we all care about so dearly. He was incompetent. His decision making became a detriment to the reputation of the University. No one wanted him to fail, but he did. I call it how I see it, sorry but I'm just not sorry. Peace, man.

a bumbling moron. That shows a complete lack of class on your part. I respect him and have never seen a need for name calling, no matter how disappointing his results. He's a good coach who was in over his head. We would have been lucky to have him in a lesser capacity.

Go blue 1984 I'm with you on this. Shallman definitely surprised me with some of his runs in the spring game and I think he's going to be the starting running back at some point this season. From what I could tell he seems to have great vision and a very strong first cut. Extremely elusive running style. He also caught the ball very well a few times and is a good blocker. Derrick green is simply overrated and is what he is. A very average running back who goes down easily despite his size. I still think he can be a solid contributor obviously but should not be the starter. Deveon smith can't see the holes and won't be able to pickup the playbook fast enough. I'm hoping Ty Issac can blow up and become a star but not counting on that happening. My votes on Shallman then possibly Karan Higdon being the dark horse surprise of the year. He seems the opposite of Derrick green in that he doesn't go down easy and has the strength to compete in college right away.

Also curious why you don't think Deveon not be able to pick up the playbook. Do you actually have insight into his football IQ or the other RBs? If not, too many overzealous/unfounded statements are thrown out like that. Observing performance and throwing on arm chair quarterback analyses are one thing but let's not over assert your inside knowledge or lack thereof.
