This will be the longest two weeks in the history of fandom. Cannot wait to get out boys back out on the field. This team will play with rage. Let's run the table boys!

Normally I hate these "history is going to repeat" because of A, B, and C being similar (while ignoring that D thru Z are totally different) things.  It's mentally lazy.

But I have to admit, this one is a little bit spooky.  Who am I to argue with the Gods of football fate?

24 - 12, Baby!  24 - 12.

Another "voodoo is real" post...

EDIT: I see now this was brought up by ESPN and the OP was merely sharing the premise of the article. Still think these types of things are stupid.

I wish it always were, especially in this case, but after that game on Saturday, pardon me if I don't trust the unviverse to do anything but screw Michigan over again.  It seems like MSU and  OSU live under lucky stars these days with all the narrow escapes they've had.  Shouldn't the laws of probability be catching up with them, especially OSU?  Signed, Bitter Not Better

As a time saver, I took this approach first thing this morning. Any Sparty who won't acknowledge the ending was anything but luck for an otherwise beaten team, won't get me to participate in a game discussion. If they will be intellectually honest about what happened, no problem at all talking about it in depth. And congratulating them on honest, fair competition and coming out on top.

My Sparty friends and co-workers are quick to point out the yardage disparity between the teams as proof that this outcome was not a fluke.  What they fail to consider though was that MSU's average starting position was on their own 22 and ours was on our own 38, so we had fewer yards because we didn't need them to score.

strange that Sam didn't correct him. The thing I'm wondering is do we move up in the polls after beating our next 4 opponents? None are ranked. If we can't make the playoffs, I'd settle for beating OSU, finishing in the top 10, and winning the Rose Bowl.

We're going to win the next four game - take that to the bank. Now, beating OSU is possible, but will still be extremely difficult. If we thought the MSU game was tough, just wait for OSU. Thankfully we have them in Ann Arbor AND we have a competent coaching staff. I think we can get them, but will reserve full analysis the week of because we still have another four games to play before that one. Beating OSU would obviously save our season. They will likely be 11-0 going into that game and it would be excellent to ruin their season. We all know Jim has been prepping for that game since early this year.

Agreed. OSU is a far better team all around than MSU and they will show it the week they play in Columbus. I think OSU wins that game by two or more touchdowns and the outcome will never really be in doubt.

I never said that. My point was that each year is different - Drawing parallels is all good and well, but what happened in 1969 is irrelevant to this year.

1969 is in the past - we need to live in the now. History and tradition is great, but it guarantees nothing and doesn't help you win games.

I'll preface this comment by saying that Hackett seems like the real deal and that I can't think of a better coach for Michigan than Harbaugh.

However, I (and presumably most of the board) also felt this way in 2011. Brady Hoke was in year 1, Brandon seemingly cleaned out those in the AD responsible for stretch-gate, we had new football & basketball facilities (and so we all liked Brandon).

I appreciate all of this "we are back" and "Bo lost to MSU in 69", but can we wait a bit before crowning anybody. We were burned by the false feeling of 2011 just a few years ago. That's my fear (again, I love Harbaugh, but also loved Hoke in 2011 & 2012).
