2014 CB/RB Jabrill Peppers' Top Five

Submitted by chatster on

The award for the "premier athlete of the fall season" in Northern New Jersey goes to Jabrill Peppers of Paramus Catholic, an "athlete" in the 2014 recruiting class whose current top five includes Michigan (and Stanford, LSU, Notre Dame and tSIO). He’s a 5-star on Rivals and a 4-star on Scout where he’s rated as the third best cornerback in the 2014 class. http://www.northjersey.com/sports/185972662_H_S__football__Special_honor_for_Paramus_Catholic_s_Jabrill_Peppers_for_PC_s_Peppers.html

Thought I remembered something about him being a Michigan fan, and the google machine confirmed my suspicions.  He told Tremendous in the spring that he grew up a big UM fan, so I'd be surprised if he pulled a 180 and favors Ohio so soon in the process.  Stranger things have happened I suppose.  He also said he was planning on coming for a visit sometime before the season ended but I don't remember that happening... I'd be interested to hear one of our own get the story from him.

Saw this as well but we are leading with Westphal and have a great shot with Webb among other targets so I'm confident in our staff. I'm not saying this as the normal OSU fan as we don't want him though. He would be a great addition to the class and it is a long way to singing day.

EDIT: i prefer singing day. Shows a real commitment to UM.

Shanker said he met with Peppers at his school and talked with him for a half hour or so.  When another poster questioned the situation like some of you guys are (e.g. 13 months out, OSU in best position though they're #2 and little hope for Michigan fans, how Derrick Green was an OSU lock last year and now look, etc...), I guess it hit a nerve with Jared because he posted a response that came off rather rude and pissed off and it sparked a bit of a WolverineNation forum war. His reply has since been deleted (wish I had saved it).

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up there. It's hard to predict with blue chippers. It's just that there seems to be a lot of conflicting evidence at the moment, so I'm not sure why the certainty on his part.

off topic, but why in the F does espn have a front page story all day today about urban meyer earning a $150k bonus for OSU being ranked 3rd to end the season? I mean, I know why, but just silliness. that is not even remotely newsworthy.
