Submitted by Bluestreak on

2013 OL Hunter Bivin from Apollo HS, Kentucky landed a Michigan offer recently. He has high interest in Michigan along with Notre Dame.

He is an early 4 star at 247sports and maybe visiting Ann Arbor for a third time.

Other offers include LSU, Auburn, Ohio State, Notre Dame

Shows good speed for his 6'7" 290 lbs frame..

Dude squats 500 lbs and benches 315 as a junior. That's impressive!

PS - Please delete if this has been reported already - but I didn't see it on the 2013 offer list yet.

Any idea how kentucky is becoming a powerhouse state lately? So many solid recruits with long offer sheets. Confusing to me as kentucky football at least the collegiate level is terrible.

An odd aside, but I believe after the game against ohio I saw him clearing a path for an elderly couple to avoid the crowds on the field.  Definitely had good stance and it was a great gesture, seemed like a good kid.

So he won't be going to ohio.

So one of my good friends is also being recruited heavily by Michigan in the 2013 class, and he took me and my dad (who is also his coach) to the SDSU game this past year. We sat in the row in front of Hunter and his dad, and the whole time they were asking me (and mostly my dad) about Michigan's history, the stadium capacity, and other things about the Michigan program.

We didn't know the caliber player he was at the time and were just being genuine Michigan fans to these two out of state guys by telling them about the program. My friend and him compared measureables and whatnot and talked about their positions in high school as well.

They didn't appear to have a good deal of knowledge about the school and program's history at the beginning of the game, but we continued to talk to them, all 3 of us are huge Michigan fans of course, and by the end of the game they seemed genuinely impressed with the history and credentials of the program, as well as showing enthusiasm and interest about the prospects of playing here.

So I went to buy my new flat screen at Best Buy and the guy who sold it to me saw my MIchigan gear and said his brother was being recruited by Michigan.

He was very excited about Michigan being on him.

I should make it to a game or 3 this year.

Owensboro is a great sports town.  They turn out some good athletes that have made their mark in the NFL and NBA.

I would say after UK and U of L that Michigan is the next most frequent school that you see people wearing gear from.

My banker and his wife are huge Michigan fans.  I can never go to the store without seeing one other person in Michigan gear.

I'm an OBK resident as well and I'm always surprised at the number of people wearing Michigan gear that you see wandering around town. Also good to see a kid from Apollo getting some good offers as it always seems like Owensboro (city school) produces the much better football teams.

There are some monster teams out in the counties in the surrounding areas that in the past have just crushed the likes of Apollo and I would like to see them get some recruiting attention. Basketball is so big here that I feel like some big name schools could have ripe pickings of of oversized farm boys. UK and Louisville are the most supported schools around here but that's really only for the basketball, noone pays too much attention to college football but the Michigan brand is very predominant.

On a side note, I never really figured there would be many (read: any) Mgobloggers in Owensboro, neat to see some others on here and I'm thinking we should consider having a gameday sometime for the 2012 season.

there are a few (5 or so) good players here every year.  2013 is exceptional  because of the 3 kids at Trinity.  Certainly not the norm.

And before everyone gets their hopes up, you should know that Quick is likely an Alabama or Arkansas lean, Hatcher camped at Oklahoma as a junior and White is sought by many too.  Most big time programs will offer all 3.  Bobby Petrino has a great shot at these kids ecause of his past ties to Louisville and his son Nick is a former QB at Trinity.  Petrino has good long standing relationships at the school.

While I'm hopeful, I'd be surprised if UM landed any one of the 3.
