You're working under the assumption that he'd be coming/offered regardless. I disagree. That Beilein took Stauskas' commitment without offering Bhullar filling the entire class, sorry to say it but that's pretty telling.

Not to say he might not be offered later with possible attrition (transfers, THJ/Morris leaving early) but as of right now, he won't be coming.

Ain't no way this kid is 6'5'' which is all fine and dandy because he is going to be a guard anyways. Nik already seems to have a better handle than anyone currently on M with the exception of Morris. Certainly could see him filling in at the point. He might not have great quickness, though it looks to be pretty good, but his hand speed looks A1.

He looks to have stu douglas type handles, maybe even a little better. Good enough to get the job done but not on the level of morris. He looks to be a good fit. I'm surprised but I'm almost more excited for this commitment than the Max Bielfeldt commitment, even though our PF position is in bigger need.

The spelling of his name is Nikolas Stauskas (Lithuanian). So, the correct short form would be Nik, but Nik doesn’t like it and spells his own name as Nick. At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter. Nobody will be offended at either spelling. Just to clear up any other lingering misconceptions that have been posted on ESPN, etc – He is a legit 6’6″ in bare feet. He is 205 lbs. As far as the 106 ranking goes, he outplayed and outscored his top 10 ranked teammates all year, so make up your own mind what he should really be ranked.

Take the last part FWIW, but it sounds like this guy is very solid in his assertion about Nik's height.

I'm optimistically thinking that he's saying Stauskas outperformed his 2 5-star teammates. He goes to a prep school in Massachusetts which has a pair of 5-star forwards in the same class, one of them committed to Duke.

If he's saying that Stauskas is playing better then both of them then WOO!
