2010 Recruiting

Submitted by Jerard on
Word on the web is that Rivals should be coming out with a Top 100 sometime within the next week or say. Sorry I don't have any sources or links, but I think at about this time last year Rivals came out with the list. That should really jump start the 2010 recruiting season. I'm especially interested in the Michigan and Ohio prospects.

Another absurd statement; losing Mathis isn't the end of the world. It would be nice to keep a Michigan kid instate, but if not, we'll be alright I'm pretty sure. We're high on the list for Cullen Christian and Lo Wood, so we're on a good start for CBs.

Why is it that everyone who disagrees with you is being "absurd," "stupid," or some other rude and judgemental adjective? I have strong opinions myself, but I have learned to respect the opinions of others. The purpose of a forum is to exchange ideas, not to insult everyone who disagrees with you. Is there any way you can just state your opinions and "agree to disagree" without the drama and name-calling? I, for one, would really appreciate it if you could save the insults for fans of other programs who come here to gloat or troll.

I'm hearing that ricardo is a top 10 prospect for 2010. And I don't think Dior will be coming to Michigan. Would be a very nice pickup but I don't think it's gonna hppen Can anyone shed some light on cass tech teammate Daniel easterly? He looks like a great athlete. I watched his video and he loves to hit hard. He would also be a very very nice pickup for the blue

Mathis isn't a "must." We already have Cissoko, Warren, Turner, and then a couple projects (Floyd, Witty, Woolfolk) who might contribute. It would be nice to get him, but to call him a "must" is a stretch. I really like what I've seen of Easterly. I'd rather get him than Mathis.

Mathis is definitely not a must get. Seems like we have a few prospect potentials at CB as well. Lo Wood in particular seems like we have a pretty good shot at. Plus if we can get Marvin Robinson at safety that should make it a little more likely JT stays at corner.

I think 2010 recruiting will be defined by the progress we make this year on the field. I think MSU beat us instate because MSU appears (right now) to be on the rise and UM has hit the bottom. If we can beat MSU this year and get 8 wins or so I think that kids will be begging to play for us.

Michigan State "beat" Michigan because Rich Rod recruits nationally and D'Antonio admittedly puts emphasis mostly on the local area. Kids are already begging to play for Michigan. QB Nader Furrha is walking on from Ann Arbor Pioneer. Two other D-Linemen are walking on from in-state. Need I remind you Nick Sheridan walked on from Saline. And, look at the national talent Rich Rod is bringing to Michigan this fall with the 2009 class. Tell me, would you rather want Denard Robinson or AJ Westendorp? How about Tate? Are we upset that J.T. Turner is here, a 5-star talent, instead of getting a kid from Livonia? Not me. Michigan is a national-level school, and it should pull highly ranked national recruits. Michigan's natural rivals for recruiting are Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC, LSU, and now Florida, Texas and Florida State. Michigan State can continue to compete with Central, Purdue and Minnesota for most of their kids. RR has no reason to apologize for "only" pulling about 8 Michigan high schoolers (at this point, either schollie or walk-on) this year. The quality of this class looks to be high.
