2010 RB Chris Robinson
Anyone that is in the Mid Michigan area or follows recruiting (TomVH) heard anything on this kid? He plays for my old school. As a junior (going into the state championship game this weekend) he has over 2700 yds, about 11 ypc, over 200 yds/gm and over 40 TDs on the year. I think he is on the MSU radar. The word is that he and his family are big Michigan fans (scUM per rivals board).
He is listed at 6 ft, 205 but may be a little slow (listed as 4.55 forty on Rivals). Also, his level of competition is poor (hell, I was a 2 way all conference guy in that league).
There is not much info out there on this kid (maybe for good reason) but supposed to be a good kid and if he has Big Ten level talent, I'd hate to see him at State. Thanks.

Who's he play for? If he plays for Rockford he's playing against my alma mater, Lake Orion, in the championship tomorrow.
GO DRAGONS!

I am assuming you are referring to the rb from ovid-elsie; heard that sparty is going after him pretty hard...don't know much more about him.

Isn't he the singer for The Black Crows?

The beard tends to slow him down and if he's not good enough for Kate Hudson, he's not good enough for U of M.

lol......"the beard tends to slow him down"....
That dude would get snapped in half on a football field...what does he weigh? 140? He's like 6'-4" 140.

Good to see some love for Robinson. What class were you in Mooseman? I played football at O-E and graduated in '01.
According to the State Journal, Robinson needs something like 160 yards this weekend to break the state record for yards in a season. For the record, that's less than he had in the third quarter against Standish-Sterling in the state semis.

Well, not quite. Graduated in 1984.
Talk about feeling old, at least 3 kids on the team are sons of my old teammates.

Nice. Did you play for O'Donnell then?
I'm out of state as well, but the game is being carried by Fox Sports Detroit, which I get on DirecTV. I still wish that I could be up there to cheer them on. What Coach Goosen has done is amazing, considering that the two years I played varsity, we were a combined 2-16. The program has completely turned around.

As well as my history teacher and slept in the passenger seat during my drivers training. His early seventies teams were very good but that school has had over 30 years of 0 (1977) to 5 win seasons. That place will go apeshit if they win.

So he's not playing in the REAL state championship. Division One is tomorrow at 1pm, Ford Field. I'll be there.
Kidding, of course. Kind of.

Very small town/school that has never been anywhere close to this. If you are staying for the 4:30 game, cheer them on, check out Robinson and report back if you can. If I weren't in NC, I'd be there.

if you wanna talk about a "real" state championship, the D2 teams are better than D1...jus sayin
November 28th, 2008 at 10:10 PM ^
True, Division 2 in Michigan is almost always better than D1, this year being no exception. Muskegon and Lowell were the two best teams in any division in the state (both d2) and Muskegon won the title easily today.
