The 2009 RB Class
Not getting as much attention in the media is the amazing class of RB athletes we picked up this year. Toussaint, Jones and Smith are all SUPER exciting athletes with game breaker capability. Toussaint looks like he is running and everyone else is standing still- unreal.

This kid pancakes his opponent every other play and gets downfield amazingly for a man of his size.

Now if Fitz could only just qualify...

Just how dicey is the academic situation with Fitz? Is there at least a better than average chance that he will be able to enroll this summer?

mods don't seemed overly concerned at this point. I can't remember what was said specifically (test scores/GPA/credits) about him, but it didn't sound like he was going to have to pull off a series of miracles to make it happen.

If I remember correctly, he needs to score better on his ACT and he'll have a few more chances to do so. Hopefully he'll rise to the occasion and get the score he needs to appease the NCAA clearing house.

His ESPN highlights are great. What speed this kid has off his cuts! AND it was against good competition.
I expect to see V.S. get some quality playing time in the coming years. Reminds me a bit of Jacquizz Rogers.

Smith had a great game in his HS championship game. It was a fairly low-scoring game and his stats weren't eye-popping, but he made a ton of crucial plays when they were needed.

Smith makes some cuts in that vid that showcase some serious balance and elusiveness, can't wait to see him in blue.

Regardless of the academic issues, I've always thought Toussaint was one of the most overrated players in the country this year. I think part of the reason is that some people are saying "there's no way this guy can be THAT good, right?"
He looks like he's in his own world when on the field.

Overrated?

...okay, so is he overrated or underrated?

my bad, i meant underrated.

As for Toussaint and his HS performance, Mac looked like he was in his own world in HS, too. It is really difficult to predict how someone will turn out against better competition until they actually face said competition.
I am just really happy that UM has a lot of potentially great RB's and slot guys.
I am also wondering how many will end up at CB or safety if the situations there don't improve.

fitzy toussaint please get eligible. i have a feeling that you could be ridiculous if you qualify. we would all appreciate it if you could do that for us and make us smile for the next 4 years. thanks.
