16-17 M BB Scholarship Count?
We lose two scholarships with Spike and Caris. We already had one free scholarship so that's 3. The 4th is going to come by someone currently on the roster leaving, which is just natural attrition, or one of the guys taking a prep year.
Dawkins is gonna be at worst like the 2nd player off the bench... He better not leave

I disagree as to the untapped potential. Dawkins had a very high shooting %, can jump out of the gym, and converted a number of forced opportunities with the shot clock winding down.
Yet after the ND game, I had an "epiphany". Is something motivational limiting Dawkins play? Could it be that he knows that he's outta here? How did he not get that rebound in the ND game? And in the B1G Tournament against Indiana or NW, there was a defensive rebound in the middle of the paint for which he was outjumped by someone of about his size. Again, that rebound was his for the taking, but someone with less athletic ability got it. I dunno. His play doesn't compute.
Stay classy....
and not naming names.
Also, can BEILEIN PLEASE OFFER JAMAL CAIN!!! Kid is the the real deal.
Injuries aren't the problem with him. It's a complete lack of aggressiveness and being an active player on the floor. He seems to prefer taking 3's instead of playing anywhere near the paint. He has athletic ability but seldom shows it. I'm just not sure where he fits in with this team.
somewhere where they can actually help a big man develop his game. Wilson should transfer, he has a ton of physical talent and is getting fucked by being here.

I hope JB tells Spike that because of his body, his true future in the game is in coaching. Then he should offer him a GA position. Sadly, I think Spike is such a warrior that if he feels remotely decent by summer, he witll try to play.
Maybe Spike can play another season and escape further wrath from what I call "Wolff's law meets Murphy's law," but I hope he doesn't take the risk.
That said, I do think it's becoming clear that while player development is a strength of this staff, roster management is not. Regardless of what happens with Albrecht, this is the second straight year that a self-inflicted numbers crunch has affected the quality of roster—first by jettisoning Bielfeldt, then by dropping Langford after Battle committed.

Beilein has to look ahead two years and see the six departures coming. I don't think Spike takes the place of/forces out any rising sophomores or incoming freshman, unless it's to a prep year. Beilein has to be concerned about developing enough playing-time ready kids for the 2018-2019 season.

Didn't we have this same thread a week ago? It's basically going to lead to the top 3 results already - somebody saying the logical "somebody is going to prep/leave" and then some people listing names because speculation about the same 2-3 college kids who aren't "good" enough is always productive.

We can't give Austin Hatch a medical redshirt, again?
