1-7 vs top 10 teams

Get it together. Pathetic considering our level of recruiting.

Michigan has more built in advantages than MSU. Harbaugh walked into a team that had ready-made talent and a B1G caliber starting QB to boot. Dantonio had to build his from the ground up, so of course his climb would take a little longer. And yes get me a win in Indy and I’ll take an ass whooping in the playoff by Alabama. It is not like we haven’t gotten humiliated before in lesser games.

Ready made talent and big ten caliber QB???
This fan base is so fucking revisionist when it comes to justify calling harbaugh overrated and talk up dantonio.
This program was in a death spiral and called a dumpster fire that would take 5 years minimum to rebuild.
But yes, Jim inherited a "ready-made" roster and good QB. Hoke basically allowed him to walk into a simular situation as Meyers did one year removed from sweater vest.

The whole "Big Game" statistic has been readily disproven.

It's simplistic human narrative to say that a coach "can't win the big game". E-v-e-r-y game is a "big game", coaches and players are fighting for their careers and livelihood e-v-e-r-y game. That's how this all boils down.

The absurdity of it. Especially for a HC on his who's already had over decade of success at 4 different programs in college and the pros.

This idea is irrational. "Can't win the big game". It applies to EVERY SINGLE COACH EVER...until...it doesn't! (and player).

The deduction is goofy.

But, that never seems to stop anyone.

Well guess what? Two completely different situations and programs. MSU hadn't won crap in fourty years now they regularly beat top ten teams and actually you know win meaningful bowl games. MSU has the same amount of top five finishes that we have in the last 25 years. Considering how much shit our fans talk about them playing the disrespect and underdog role I find that hilarious and sad.

U-M football is Rocky Balboa at the beginning of Rocky III -- a bloated, soft champion living the high life and celebrating past glories that gets beat down at the hands of a more hungry challenger. Until this program (and fan base) changes its mindset and begins acknowledging that they're not a top dog anymore, nothing is changing anytime soon.

No shit. Like, I get it was upsetting, but nothing that happened today was unexpected. Peters doesn’t get injured and I think they play close till the end. Probably still lose, but we didn’t get blown off the field like Penn State.

Yes QB protection is a problem, but it’s not any offensive coach’s fault that that Wisconsin player drove him unnecessarily hard into the ground like that.

Always seems like our opponents want it more. Certainly the case when we play OSU and MSU and was evident against PSU earlier this year.

I know. It was totally the refs. It had nothing to do with three turnovers, including a pick 6 and a fumble on the OSU 2 yard line. It had nothing to do with our 2.1 yards rushing on 43(!!!) attempts, netting less than 100 yards. It had nothing to do with our inability to sustain drives in the second half...or - shit - we had the ball with our victory in hand and couldn't get a first down...yeah - it was totally the refs.

They circle The Game. They embrace it. We seem to treat it like any other game. You know, just like OSU used to do under Cooper. We were a far superior team to OSU last year. We had a great team talent-wise. Maybe the best we've had since 1997. And we choked. Again, just like Cooper's teams did against Michigan.

I am waiting for the day we win a game we are not supposed to win. There are upsets every week. I cannot remember the last time we upset anyone. One more chance to do it this year, and make it a satisfying season. I am not holding my breath.
