I would hate to see Mike Shaw do karaoke and get stuck singing complicated by Avril Lavigne.  "Why you gotta go and make things so complicate... complication..... comp..... HARD!" But in all seriousness I know public speaking sucks and can mess with your nerves. I get tounge twisted everytime I have to stand up in front a crowd.

Coach Hoke looks like he just woke up next to a bottle of tequila and an empty pizza box.  Now him and Jake Taylor are going to ice their knees and head out to the plaza for chorizo and eggs.

I like it.  Not sure it beats Coach Carr's new "I just murdered a family of settlers with an axe" beard, but it looks good.

What makes the look awesome is the tremendous sunglasses tan lines around his eyes and on the sides do his head. Looks like he was on spring break, tried to drink all of the beer in cancun, and passed out by the pool, only to wake up, stagger back to his room, throw down some cold pizzas and run out to give this presser.

Frank Clark seems to be making quite an initial impression during this first week of practice. J.B. Fitzgerald sees a lot of potential emerging. GMat had some nice words earlier in the week. It'll be interesting to see if Clark gets playing time this Fall instead of redshirting.

Hard to believe Shaw is a senior, doesn't seem 4 years ago that Coach Jackson was raving about McGuffie and Shaw, two tremendous talented young freshman.

I like Shaw's low key approach, hope he has a big senior season and gets the starting nod

Shaw came in with a "hot shot" like attitude, then he was kind of just a "know it all"...it's fun to see a humble Michael Shaw. A guy who seems to "get it."

I hope we don't commit too much to this "one guy" thing. Borges had Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown and Brandon Jacobs in the same year and went undefeated I believe. What's wrong with having 3 guys here? I think 5-6 is too much. But I think you can go with the Hopkins/Cox winner, Shaw/Fitz winner, and Smith/Hawls/Rawls winner.

#1 Never heard him talk...he sounds like Ricky Williams, lol

#2 The area between his nose and his upper lip looks like it took a shot of novacane...it doesn't move

#3...four defenses in four years. Yikes. Oh what could've been.

why my last post is "flamebait?"

He does sound like Ricky...the area doesn't move...and it sucks that he has to play 4 years with 4 coordinators.

I personally think JB is going to be the surprise of the LB corps. From what I've heard, he's a kid that responds to coaching and teaching...not yelling. He'd shut down, overthink and not respond to all of the yelling and screaming of the last 3 years. I think if he gets a shot, he'll surprise some. Wish him all the best.

...with that said, I'm sure this is still "flamebait"...like I said, don't understand who makes those decisions and why that one was made.

has to say about pressuring the QB and making him feel uncomfortable. It sounds like not just more coachspeak but the central tenant of his defensive doctrine.

always trying to be a Dick to Coach Hoke. Like he's smarter than him or something. Bro, you're a beat writer for a newspaper, Coach Hoke is WAYYYYYYYY smarter than you are. Get real.

by little snot nosed 'journalists' like Sharp. I have this little fantasy of Hoke stepping over to bitch-slap him, and then resume presser as if it was a hiccup.
