Team Level Statistics

Submitted by UltimaKHAN on September 15th, 2009 at 11:52 PM
I have a collection of statistics that I have kept for a number of years (since the 80s) regarding team level comparisons -- e.g. win-loss records, etc...  Many of the stats are from the last 10 years to give a "current" flavor to the all-time records for those of you looking to back up your arguments with recent stats and attempting to debunk arguments like "you were good in the 1920s, but since then ..."

My main webpage is http://webpages.charter.net/ultimakhan/ and Brian was gracious enough to post it in one of his posts a few years back -- I just wanted to add a diary entry for those looking for an easier link to the content.

The full topic list on the site is as follows:

Current Poll Summaries (conference -- includes 10-year lookback)
All-time AP Poll Information (several entries)
Average 1-A (FBS) scores for FBS vs. FBS games only (current year)
Bowl Information (10-year records&current streaks)
Win-Loss Information (current year and 10-year lookback)

Also included at the end are additional stats on the Big Ten records and some Michigan specific records.

I welcome any feedback to improve the content and/or correct mistakes (with your information showing me what was wrong).

Here's a link to save folks the cut and paste.

The data on Average Final Poll actually confirmed what I had been thinking (but had not yet posted without doing some research):

The question: "When will M be back?" is nonsense because, we never left! (One season does not mean you are no longer an elite program.)

Michigan is 10th, 9th, and 10th in the three polls final rankings over the last decade (including the season that shall not be spoken of).

Updated all of the current weekly content for games through 9/19 -- with the exception of the average SoS which depends on another site that has yet to update (look for SoS updates tomorrow or Tuesday).
