In 1894 after the big upset of Cornell, James Burrill Angell
"I have been asked often today, 'What will be the effect of the game?' I am neither a prophet or the son of a prophet, but there is one thing of great value that I believe will result. ... I think the benefit of victory lies in the cultivation of this broad, generous university spirit that pervades all departments and makes us feel here one interest and common joy."
Three year's later "The Rivalry" started and this was redacted to: "F*CK OHIO STATE"
That is all, no need for fancy pictures.
In the three years of the Harbaugh era, OSU has out gained UofM on the ground by over 500 yards, so today they will win by starting to cut into that lead. To do that:
1) Make OSU pass only;
2) Run the ball in the second half.
I believe that UofM will take a page out of the 2006 rivalry and have a pass heavy start, taking shots at some big plays early. If they can hit those, the game becomes high variability if OSU needs to pass from behind and that gives UofM a chance to make a big statement. Things go our way for once and that statement is made.
