Imagine starting a new job in an office and your job duties include generating 25 page expenditure reports for 12 clients that are critical to the survival of your company. You started the job on Monday, and are expected to have it completed by Wednesday afternoon. You are given a pen and paper instead of a calculator, and a typewriter instead of a computer. Now Imagine you are a construction worker and you start a new job where your duty is to move 100 yards of dirt from one job site to another by the end of the day. You are given a shovel and wheelbarrow instead of a dumptruck. Now Imagine you are Jon Bon Jovi and you are supposed to put on a concert in front of 173 rabid Sparty fans and instead of having Richie Sambora in your gay band you have Randy Marsh. Congratulations!!! You have now walked a mile in the shoes of RichRod. I am so incredibly disgusted by the shit this guy has had to take this year I could go on a puking binge until 2009's spring game. I am embarrased to have so many ignorant piles of ass calling themselves Wolverines. It is pathetic and sad the way people have abandoned and shit on this coaching staff and team. People wonder why McGuffie and others are going to transfer. What have people shown them this year to make them want to stay??? People throw shit talk around about RichRod getting fired. Why the hell shouldn't the man quit????? Criticism is one thing, but the personal attacks on coaches and players is beyond absurd. Wake up folks, Jesus Christ himself could not win games with the quarterbacks we had this year. Plain and simple. You can't win division I football games with less then Division III talent. This will be turned around, I have zero doubt. We will again be on top, and I don't want to see 1/2 of you bastards around when that day comes.

RR was asked to take over and not turn Michigan into ND from 2007. But it happened. Don't make him out to be a martyr. He could have done a better coaching job- he didn't. Give him time- he needs it. But don't tell me he faced the impossible this year.

stupid. However, I tend to agree with Zoltan the destroyer. He made mistakes. For example, I heard all summer that he would adapt his spread to the qb, but I never saw it. Threet shouldn't have run nearly as much as he did. Keep the spread, but make it more like Texas Tech. Add the zone read and designed qb keeper when you get a running qb. Getting Threet injured probably cost us two wins. He has my support, but I don't think he did everything he could with this team this year.

The Texas Tech offense is not, and never has been, and never will be, what Rodriguez runs. Look past the 3+ receivers and look at the plays called. Rodriguez was 70% run, Texas Tech was 80% pass. Without Pat White, Rodriguez had run closer to the 55% run that Michigan was always at. This year: 55% running (imagine!) 2007, under Carr: 51% running 2006, under Carr: 59% running So, the run/pass split WAS adjusted to the personell. He didn't run 73% of the time like he had for the cumulative 3 previous years at WVU.

"Keep the Iraq War going, but make it like post-WWII Germany." "Keep the Enron stock, but make it like the pre-collapse Enron." "Keep the '70s ranch house, but make it like a Beverly Hills mansion." "Keep the horse, but make it like a Unicorn." Jesus Christ, buddy, just that one sentence makes it clear to the world you have no idea what you're talking about.

I generally agree with this post. People calling for Rodriguez's head are basically saying that they want a parade of unknown head coaches on two-year contracts. Carr built an amazing program of consistency, but he's also at the root of some of this season's problems - both on the field and with unnecessary expectations. This is the same team that lost to a 1-AA opponent in 2007 with a veteran team but yet it was Rodriguez who ran us into the ground. That being said, I was disappointed with Rodriguez. Could he have won 8-10 games with this team? Not a chance. Could he have won 6-7? Maybe. -- Starting Sheridan against Utah was a bad idea. -- Messing around with the defensive scheme up until the Purdue game cost us. -- Mixing in a little more conventional offense that Threet was familiiar and comfortable with. -- Not giving Brown/Minor more time early in the season, though they were either hurt or fumbling. -- Insisting on putting in another safety in nickel packages instead of a corner.

I totally agree with AC1997! Now before I start, I love Coach Carr like every true Wolverine fan out there. But his last few years as head coach of our beloved football team, he was really slacking. He was at the point, where he cared more about developing players as a great individual (which is great in all) then developing the football teams to be great and achieve what they should have. Prime example is... (no not the Appy State game which is another)but the Alamo Bowl against Nebraska. There is no way they should of beat us, let alone left us looking like idiots for that stupid lateral play (just pitch it to Breaston)! Anyway he ended up letting the name Michigan do the recruiting and not put his heart and sole into recruiting. We needed better athletes to win the close game. Example (Texas - Rose Bowl, Nebraska - Alamo Bowl and Ohio State(1 vs 2 game, well all of them)I hate them. I could go on and on, everyone knows we lost a lot of games because of bad defensive play calling (inconsistency)& lack luster offense play calling with the lead. Giving up leads at the end of the game. That is all a case of Lloyd losing the killer instinct. This is the main reason why Rich didn't have a chance this year, he had no athletes or depth behind the ones we do have. I could rant for hours, but just give Rich Rod a chance! I am sure we will be better than any WVU team that he has ever coached, and you know why? Because we are the University of Michigan and kids wanna play for tradition, especially the athletic ones! GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

What were we supposed to do this year? Sit back in 5 & 7 step downs and throw downfield? Line up and run straight at the other team out of a power I set? We had the worst set of WRs (due to inexperience) in my memory as a Michigan fan. Our OL was beyond terrible. So yeah, let's leave our QB back there to get crushed because the OL can't protect him and the WRs can't get open. Let's just try pounding the rock behind an OL where the starting LG was a DT two weeks before the season. This team had fundamental flaws that are well beyond the control of some minor adjustments in coaching strategy.

But make it more like the offense I ran when I took UM to back-back-back national championships in EA's NCAA '03 during my last year of college in 2003. 78.9 points/game, fellas. The spread DOES work. You just have to run it my way.* *Creating a 450lb RB with sub 4.2 speed named "ThWard" helped, I'll admit.
