THE KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE is always posted as a board topic, instead of as a diary

.

However, due to many nonsensical threads on the board this week, THE CHALLENGE may get bumped to the back pages within a couple of hours this time. Hence, as a one time event, THE KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE is posted today as a diary.

Michigan "D" toughens up and forces 3 Iowa FG's.  For a 2nd consecutive week, we actually attampt and make a field goal, allowing Michigan to eke out the victory.

Michigan 31, Iowa 30

Awesome.

This week's prediction:

                            38-28 michigan

(1) Someone other than Denard has a particularly awesome & surprising performance... Mike Shaw runs for and receives a TD pass, cracking 100 yards between Rush/Receiving.

(2) Michigan comes out Hot & Hungry, going up 24-16 at half as Iowa stalls on a number of drives and has to settle for FG's. Stanzi gives us a gift int/fumble before half-time.

(3) Michigan gets a 2nd half Special Teams TD on the KO after Iowa bleeds the clock on their first drive of the 2nd half. Iowa responds with another long TD drive to kill the 3rd Q

(4) Michigan's offense is largely contained in the 2nd half. Denard starts off hot, but cools down significantly, but also doesn't make the big mistake. Finishes 18-27, 150 or so yards, misses a few deep opp's. accounts for 1 pass TD to Shaw, and a pair of rushing TDS, one of which seals the game midway through the 4th Q. rushes 20+ times for 110 yards, most of which comes in the first half.

(5) Tate makes an appearance later in the game, allowing Denard to get a breather after Iowa's D pops him one too many times. Tate converts a huge 3rd down on a 20 yard pass to Hemingway, but mainly hands to Shaw, who has come back ready to go after the injury, carrying 15 times for 80 yards and a TD, catching 5 passes out of the backfield for 50 yards and a TD. D-Rob returns, however, and punches in a 3 Yard TD with 5 minutes to go.

(6) The D does their usual bend-and-eventually-break deal, but Stanzi, despite completing 26-42 passes for 350+ yards, coughs up 2 INTS to go with his pair of TD passes (one, a busted coverage seam route for 55 yards on the Iowa's 2nd series.)

(7) Iowa's rushing is effective, but does not bust anything longer than 15 yards. Adam Robinson gets 105 yards on 24 carries.
