Tristan Bounds Commits to Michigan
Michigan has picked up a mountain of an offensive tackle to continue their recent run on 2021 commitments. Listed at over 6'7" and 280 pounds, Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall's Tristan Bounds announced his pledge on Twitter this afternoon:

Bounds is from Alexandria, Virginia, where he played at Episcopal High School until transferring this offseason. Notre Dame had been after Bounds hard but Michigan seemed to turn up the heat in the last month or so. While ranked as a three-star, he claims Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Texas, and UCLA on his offer sheet, which also includes a strong second tier of Cal, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, NC State, Nebraska, Temple, and West Virginia, plus a few Ivies for good measure.
With their 13th commit since the beginning of April among their 17 in the class of 2021, Michigan has strengthened their hold on the #5 spot in the national rankings. Bounds is the fourth offensive lineman in the group and projects as a pure tackle prospect given his size. I'll have much more on him in a Hello post tomorrow.
There's no content after the jump.
This looks like a great pick-up for Michigan. Michigan is pretty deep on the O-line right now, so he can take a redshirt and develop his technique and body. Welcome to the best school on the planet earth!
He's listed at over 6'7". So is he 6'7 1/2" or 7'1" or should we play a guessing game?
Welcome Bounds! Glad to have you on board.
6' 7" 285lbs? Holy Greg Frey Batman!
If he was a true Frey type, he'd be 6'7" 240
Agreed.
To me, that doesn't say, "super-skinny 2+ year development project once he hits campus."
Instead, it says, "tall & long OT shape that doesn't have any sloppy weight he needs to shed & can probably add another 20-25lbs easily by his RS Frosh year."
He weighs 285 and he actually does look somewhat thin. Kids gonna be 335lbs someday with long arms a good feet.
Connecticut really masked this beast of an O-Lineman, that size and skill as a 3 star is really a negative East Coast bias
Agreed. His film shows a nice ceiling...I was pleasantly surprised.
Well, at least we won't have to worry about leaps over Bounds.
Love the size and frame. This is the type we had for years in our heyday.
Uggg...choate (or "Coke Marijuana Hall" as we Andover people called it)
You say that like there’s something wrong with that
A bit of wealthy person humour there I guess
Looks like great back-to-back OL classes for a coach (Warriner) who was once maligned for his recruiting prowess. I know guys recruit regions and not positions specifically, but I'm really liking what they're doing up front under his leadership.
*Warinner
His last name is the combination of 2 simple words: War + inner.
Shark Teeth.
