Tristan Bounds Commits to Michigan Comment Count

Michigan has picked up a mountain of an offensive tackle to continue their recent run on 2021 commitments. Listed at over 6'7" and 280 pounds, Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall's Tristan Bounds announced his pledge on Twitter this afternoon:

Bounds is from Alexandria, Virginia, where he played at Episcopal High School until transferring this offseason. Notre Dame had been after Bounds hard but Michigan seemed to turn up the heat in the last month or so. While ranked as a three-star, he claims Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Texas, and UCLA on his offer sheet, which also includes a strong second tier of Cal, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Maryland, NC State, Nebraska, Temple, and West Virginia, plus a few Ivies for good measure.

With their 13th commit since the beginning of April among their 17 in the class of 2021, Michigan has strengthened their hold on the #5 spot in the national rankings. Bounds is the fourth offensive lineman in the group and projects as a pure tackle prospect given his size. I'll have much more on him in a Hello post tomorrow.

This looks like a great pick-up for Michigan.  Michigan is pretty deep on the O-line right now, so he can take a redshirt and develop his technique and body.  Welcome to the best school on the planet earth!

Looks like great back-to-back OL classes for a coach (Warriner) who was once maligned for his recruiting prowess.  I know guys recruit regions and not positions specifically, but I'm really liking what they're doing up front under his leadership.
