although i wish he would have stayed...he never really impressed me much this year. his one memorable play imo the screen in the nd game but other than that the only plays i can remember are him doin the splits in the nd game and gettin jacked up in the osu game. also from what ive heard from my friends that have him in class is that he kinda just sits in the back and doesnt talk-they think its because of his ego....if this is teh case id much rather have someone on my team with a positive atmostphere about him. again i do not know this to be true, it is just what i have been told by my peers. also am i the only one that thinks brown will start over minor and shaw-i believe shaw will play in many different roles though

It must be his massive ego. Or the 18 newspaper stories about him that have all prominently mentioned he is "extremely shy". Nope. Definitely the huge ego. But as long as we are speculating, I think you are lying about having "friends" in his "class" since that Shit Salad with a side of Character Assassination and Terrible Grammar dressing you posted leads me to believe you have never set foot on the Michigan campus for anything besides a tour and maybe a football game.

In hackattack's defense, his peers aren't the only ones to make that assumption. At least one of McGuffie teammates made the same mistake. And we don't know how often hackattack reads the daily.

The Daily is rarely worth reading. Other than the AP articles and letters to the editor it is so predictable, so painfully, almost obnoxiously predictable... But on topic, before you spread your friends' appraisal of McGuffie, it might be a good idea to question their assumption. Because he is quiet, he is an egomaniac? I'm not convinced. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up; it's too bad things didn't work out here but such is life. I'm just glad he didn't try to hurdle somebody and get his hip dislocated, tbh. I cringe just thinking about it.

im sorry? sorry i know people that are in his sm class adn his psychology class so they both must be wrong. also they are athletes so i am more likely to believe that they are correct in assigning this to his ego. you must be related to my gsi who thinks that i am a horrible writer as well. exactly why i am avoiding all classes related to english and writing next semester. also im in the middle of studying for 2 finals and writing a research paper so grammar is not my concentration right now. im sure you know how bad finals weeks sucks at michigan unless you are the person who has "never set foot on the Michigan campus for anything besides a tour and maybe a football game"

I know very well how finals go at Michigan. And I still never wrote in text-message format. Regardless - I think when people complain about a "celebrity" (a stretch, in this case) not talking, it says more about their desire to not be fawned over than it says anything about their ego.

I don't doubt he's a UM student. Sadly, this is downside to Michigan being such a huge school. It's a fantastic place, and there are a lot of really brilliant people there. But there are also plenty of dumbasses.

It's too bad it didn't work out, but regardless of what the reasons were, I hope things work out better for him athletically and personally back down south. And I'll root for McGuffie over Mallett.

he was kind of a d-bag, but still can't really blame him for transferring either. He is not a great fit for the read option anymore than Threet is. Would his experience have helped us marginally this year? Yes, and he did actually complete a screen pass to Manningham in the Wisconsin game two years ago, but I still don't blame the guy.

RR has proven his ability to use different QBs - although Shaun King at Tulane did get very good rushing yards, he was primarily a passer. Mallet was a good athlete and would have been fine in this offense just like King. I think people over-rely on the "he wasn't right for this offense" memo. He wanted out almost from day one- Carr had to convince him not to tansfer before the season even started. Mallett may have had the PERCEPTION that he wouldn't fit in this O, but that is a misnomer. I would not clalk up any poor outings Threet did have primarily to poor running. That was not among his most glaring defects, actually. If he would have thrown the ball well he'd have been fine. This is not to say RR wouldn't prefer to run- almost any coach would prefer to run. But don't be blinded by Pat White/Steve Slaton. They ran almost always because they had an awesome running game AND were also did not have a super great downfield passing game. If Threet could throw more consistently, he could well be successful in the spread.

....who is Sam McGuffie? Never heard of him. J/K He sounds like a weird dude. Not in a creepy way, mind you. But weird as in different. Almost like he's still trying to find himself.....which, i believe, describes at least 75 percent of college freshmen everywhere.....so, he sounds weird, probably looks weird to all those people he's allegedly avoiding. In reality, he's a good kid, but struggled more so than people ever expected adjusting to his new surroundings. He's better off somewhere else. I wonder if doctors had been hinting to take same serious time away from football because of the concussions. If that's the case, all the more reason to transfer now, take a forced redshirt and get healthy. Here's hoping he leads Tamu to the Cotton Bowl in 2011.
