Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge Comment Count

Brian

No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:

If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.

When it rains it pours.

It's the end of the year, we suck, he's got 2 more games in his career. He's not a QB or a Heisman candidate. We have a coach who is on his way out and no AD. Oh and we're not Florida State. But think about it, there is literally no motivation whatsoever to even begin to think about that. We didn't play Gibbons and York is gone for good. I don't think it's necessary to bring up Winston or FSU in this situation. It's quite simple. His career at Michigan is over. The only interest in this story should be whether it did or didn't happen and if it did...what happened and what happens next. It's no longer got anything to do with Michigan, guilty or innocent he's done. We only have 2 weeks left in the season. He's going to need more than that to find a conclusion to this matter. One Saturday away from senior day. He'll never get that honor. But that's on him, I hope he's innocent not for Michigan football, but for the alleged victim. That would seem to mean it was not physical violence. The judicial process can sort out the rest...I just hope no one was injured, harmed, hurt.

Truly hope everyone involved is safe first and foremost.

Clark was actually playing himself into a spot in the draft the last few weeks.  Given the current status with the NFL this may also be something that immediately puts the brakes on any possible future there as well.  I would think not many teams are going to think twice about anyone with even an hint of domestic violence challenges in their background given all of the stories out with Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, etc. and using a draft selection on someone that brings that baggage along.

Still need to get all of the facts, but this sure does not sound good.

It's passed concussions. It'll be an issue and it'll definitely affect him if it doesn't play out in his favor. However, right now that's just not what is important. Finding justice for Clark or the alleged victim is what matters now.

When Brandon & Hoke came on board there were no charges against Gibbon's and no sexual misconduct investigation.

It was only later, after the sexual misconduct policy was revised, that a misconduct investigation was conducted.   And based on the leaked information, once that investigation  resulted in findings against Gibbon's, he no longer played.

well if he is innocent why would you want him suspended or kicked off the team? If you are undertain of his innocences and gulity wouldn't you want that resolved until punishment is doled out? I think they call that due process.

I am in no way defending him and i am like everyone else, where there is smoke i start looking for fire. But there is a larger principle here, and i would love for us to give due process more than just lip service.

It was a fact that York sucker punched a guy.

Usually, a coach is best served by waiting for the verdict as a good (or least-bad) judgment of disputed facts before kicking someone off the team.

Coaches aren't limited to legal convictions as the only events worthy of kicking someone off the team.

A suspension seems the more appropriate way to go, even though it would effectively end Clark's UM career.  At least Hoke would be acknowledging that there is still some uncertainty in the situation.

I think sometimes it can be.  I don't know the circumstances of this individual alleged crime, of course.  But....

Being hurt by some random asshole will cause physical damage.  Being hurt by someone you trust, someone you love.... those wounds cut deeper.

I was enjoying a great day of college football, stress free because the Wolves didn't play today, and now this. I hope this all turns out to be a misunderstanding but with his track record I'm not optimistic. I can't even feel good about the ND loss now.

I hope this isn't true, for the girl's sake, but also for Frank's sake. I hope he didn't just piss his future away this weekend. I hope this isn't true, but if it is, I hope that the woman involved is okay, and that justice is served.

If this guy injured anyone (esp a female) then goodbye to him. No hate but no respect from me at all. Peace out. Done with him. If it's some sort of miscommunication, false report, etc....we'll see. Either way, his playing career has to be over, right? Even if we win another game he's not back by a bowl unless quickly proven to be a miscommunication/false accusation. HOWEVER, that takes a back seat to what strikes me as something so stupid it borders on insane - throwing away whatever money you seemed to have finally earned with consistent play. Frank Clark was going to be a 4th+ round pick anyway. Still, that was earned on the field as this had been his most consistent year (by far) on top of a string of his most consistent games. He earned some money and very likely an NFL roster spot. Why on the flying rat dick f-ck would you throw that away now? NOW? Like, now? How stupid is that given his past. Given everything he's gone through personally, why now? Forget his playing! If he "tweaked an ankle" but was fine outside of being done for the year he is still going pro. Not a top pick but he would get drafted & make a roster, IMO. Now in the NFL abuse climate? If he hit a woman or even a family member he just cost himself a job or basically any guaranteed money/roster security. If guilty I feel no pity for him. If falsely accused, I hope it's cleared up as that is s charge that is a lot like sexual assault on that it's guilty until proven innocent. Yet, I have a feeling (going off of nothing but a feeling) that something happened and he's done.....here & maybe the NFL. Just stupid.

So, what do you do if you're the coach?  No determination on his guilt or innocence will be made until well after the football season is over.  Clark is a senior.  Do you hold him out the last two games of his senior season when he hasn't been found guilty of anything or do you hold him out?  Either path has a downside and an upside.

I wouldn't want to be on the coaching staff right now anyway, but I really wouldn't want to have to make this decision.

I had assumed Clark had gotten his act together. I hope this is a case where a kid and an uncle got into a fight over something stupid and some inconsequential blows were landed. Not good but not the horror of a huge man beating a woman like Ray Rice.

But until you find out, you have to suspend him lest you risk having a woman beater actively playing on your team.

This sounds bad, but let's get some details folks. Remember that Ray Rice's wife was also arrested for domestic violence at first. So, let's see what happened, than we can talk about what a bad year it's been. This is the downside of extremely timely reporting.

I have a friend who was arrested on a domestic violence charge for tackling a woman after she broke a pool stick on his head. Let's wait and see what happened before we give up on Clark.

Because Devin Gardner, Dennis Norfleet, and ever other kid from Detroit or Cleveland or an inner city is going around causing trouble. Our current Cass Tech bunch...Richardson, Hollowell and Lewis. His comment was dumb as hell...but using this to suggest the opposite is just as dumb. Brendan Gibbons and Jake Long both got in trouble, big time trouble. Neither is from the hood.
