Exit Davonte Miles
Michigan picked up a pledge from this River Rouge DE/DT tweener when the old staff was in desperate need of anything tackle-shaped. Even though he’s a more natural fit for the new staff, he was also one of those “we’re still evaluating you” type commits who often don’t end up in the class. Sometimes they end up at Illinois, and sometimes they hulk up into Rashad Weaver at Pitt.

There was some optimism that Miles’s camp performance this summer meant he would stick. On the other hand, if you’re telling a guy who committed to the previous staff that he needs a great camp performance to stick in the class, you can understand why that guy might not think you’re as committed to him as he was to you.
Michigan is still in great shape with a number of interior prospects, including the similar but much larger Deone Walker of Cass Tech, Cincy commit Derrick Shepard, rising Canadian Isaiah Hastings, South Carolingian Robby Harrison, and even #1 national DT Walter Nolen.
Hope there’s no hard feelings, and Miles goes on to torture us with impressive PFF scores until draft day, as long as it’s at Bowling Green or something. There is no content after the jump.
Of course, he will commit to MSU.
Unless it's to Illinois, or perhaps 1 level above that - a Directional Michigan school?!
As a CMU (not Carnegie Mellon) alum, I've always wondered if it can accurately be labeled a directional school? I mean, the center isn't really a direction like north, south, east, west (or their combinations) is it? If we want to be more inclusive, perhaps the term "locational school" would be better.
I just refer to you guys as Middle Brother since you can beat the Little one.
That’ll work too.
Recruiting is often weird and unpleasant. I wish him the best.
I'm content after the jump.
Local kid I know, but national 962 ranking is pretty low. I think the staff can improve on a replacement and the class will be just fine I believe. Good luck to him at his next school of choice.
Are we really still in it for Nolen ? He isn't going to BBQ
I mean the lone source of Nolen sunshine is Sam Webb. Some fall for it every time.
"Michigan is still in great shape with a number of interior prospects... even #1 national DT Walter Nolen."
"great shape" is doing a lot of work there.
also the ellipse
Hope there’s no hard feelings, and Miles goes on to torture us with impressive PFF scores until draft day, as long as it’s at Bowling Green or something.
Can we pick a different MAC school? Michigan plays Bowling Green in 2023.
Good luck wherever you land, Davonte.
