Big Ten Media Days: Call For Questions Comment Count

Like this, but in a suit. And at a podium. And with other Big Ten coaches and players as well. So basically not like this at all. Sorry.

Since yours truly will be at Big Ten Media Days on Thursday and Friday, time to crowdsource some questions. Those of Michigan players (Denard Robinson, Kevin Koger, and Mike Martin), and coach Brady Hoke are most likely to be asked, but if you have things for other players/coaches that are interesting enough, I may get a chance to ask them at Friday's roundtables.

So, if you have a pressing question (WHEN U SCORED TOUCHDOWN HOW U FEEL?), drop it in the comments here, and I'll ask some of the best ones. You have a couple days to give it your best shot.

 1. Who do you draw inspiration from?
 2. What initial changes can be made to improve the kicking game?
 3. Is there any chance Lewan runs fullback on short yardage plays?

But I didn't mind BWC and QWash in the "Super Beef Machine" backfield last year

Yeah, let's massively overreact to last year's Illinois debacle. No, seriously. I totally endorse this course of action. Lewan, Washington, and Campbell come in, as does Hopkins, and they bellow in rage as the ball is snapped. The stampede ends a half foot into the endzone. Excelsior!
Drive Notes: Touchdown, 14-7, 1 min 1st Q.

With Michigan thankfully going back to their old ways (actually playing Defense), wearing a somewhat throwback jersey for the first night game ever, and with some discussion over helmet stickers do you (Brady Hoke) plan on bringing back the famed #1 jersey, a true MICHIGAN tradition? Thanks!

P.S. A mascot would suck! Our mascot is the BIGHOUSE not like some dirty "hobbit" in a ugly green helmet. Sparty smells like old cheese and popcorn farts. Go Blue!

P.S.S. OHIO STATE SUCKS!

With the previous coaches we saw a tendency to play an upperclassman over a less experienced play with more innate talent. I remember a quote about the coaches preferring to know where a player's deficiencies were, and scheming around those as opposed to being surprised (Example: Moundros starting over Demens). How will the new coaches weigh experience vs raw talent - i.e. what do the young guys need to do to get on the field?

Hoke:

Q: Will special teams be over-emphasized this August due to our obvious special teams shortcomings over the past few years?

Q: Does a brilliant rainbow immediately trace the trajectory of the football as it leaves Matt Wile's foot?

Martin:

Q: What opposing Big 10 interior lineman do you respect the most? Why?

Robinson:

Q: Have you watched old footage of Elvis Grbac taking like a 9-step drop on passing routes? How much quicker are you than Elvis Grbac taking a 9-step drop?

Koger:

Q: When you think of the quintessential Michigan TE, who immediately comes to mind?

Q: I was wondering if Brady Hoke is going to continue recruiting dual threat QB's, or just pro-style? I know many other programs who run pro-style offenses but still have a QB that can run, and I believe that is a major advantage. If you could ask this it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

- Would you like to partake in a weekly online moderated interview with mgoblog fans?
ok, how about every other week?
ok, how about once before the season?

- what is the most time-consuming part of your job in the summer?

- given all the violations on-going at Ohio and elsewhere, how much time
do you spend familiarizing yourself with the NCAA rules? Are there things
in there you would change?

- we all know college football, for students, is not really a 20-hour-per-week
job. how many hours per week of practice should students be allowed to
put in?

- Coach Schiano at Rutgers proposed replacing kick-offs with a 4th-and-25
from your own 35 (where you would usually punt). What are your thoughts on that?

- what is your favorite sandwich at Zingerman's? what does Jim Brandstatter order there, full sandwich or half-sized?

Do you plan on jumping up and touching the banner the first time you lead the team out of that tunnel?

(As a former student manager, I noticed some coaches do and some don't. I can also say that running out onto that field and jumping up and hitting that banner (especially for the first time) is an absolutely surreal experience--one I still dream about 8 years later.)

Do you think her brother's perfectionism contributed to Karen Carpenter's stuggle with anorexia?

If you were in a sinking ship with Mike Martin and Denard Robinson, and there was only one life preserver, who gets it?

Do you mow your own lawn or pay someone to do it?

Have you tried the Black Pepper Chicken at Panda Express?

How do you really feel about those folks over in Admissions?

A lot of times coaches in their first year use the "transition year" and "growing pains" as a bit of a scapegoat. You are inheriting a football team with lots of returning starters and a favorable schedule. This team should be ready to win big in the conference this season, so how much responsibility do you carry on your shoulders when it comes to this years' success?
