Great win, and I do agree that talking trash is part of competition, but if the roles were reversed and Lucas said something to D Mo with seconds left, everyone here would be upset. I don't see how we can all laugh it off just because we finally swept Sparty in bball and things are looking up in our world in terms of athletics.
I have no problem with the exchange on the court because we have no idea what was said over the course of the game, but to laughingly approve makes us no better than msu fans or any sec fan that we have complained about in the past.

Trash talking happens all the time, and if we just got swept by MSU after starting the year #2 and them expected to be as bad as we were expected to be, it's be no different and I wouldn't complain. Trash talking happens all the time, not just at MSU or in the SEC. I'm sure our players have done it for years. Heard of the Fab 5? Some of the biggest trash talkers in the history of sports.
Maybe I wasn't clear on my response, but I have no problem with trash talking. My point is that if the MSU players/fans were talking shit after the game if they won, we would all be pissed. They started the year #2, we swept them, and I love it, but I don't agree with lowering our moral standards because of two wins.
Thing is, we didn't end up in that situation, so we'll never know. Obviously we'd all be pissed, just as they are. HOWEVA, our team won. So good for U of M. Biggest win in a very, very long time. I'm happier with the result than in the belittling of Sparty, but that doesn't mean it isn't a little fun. C'mon, let us have our moment in the sun. Even though we may all be hypocrites, it doesn't mean we don't deserve a little happiness every now and then!
