John Beilein Appreciation game! We should still honor all the senior cheerleaders, managers, etc. But this game should be directed toward John Beilein and the good things he has done for this program. He has made some good teams with class and dignity. This season was supposed to be bornderline NIT at best, and here we are with a chance to make the tournament.

I say the marketing department makes a little video montage of him getting animated and some of his greatest moments. The students who usually wear the army jackets should don a blue shirt and yellow tie. He should get a standing ovation. I think it would really fire up the team to see their coach getting honored like that.

I love John Beilein, and despite some of his critics, I know a lot of you love him too. Let's show him. I've met him in person, and there was no better choice to lead our hoops program.

I'm in agreement. I like John Beilein a lot, in fact, but an appreciation night is wayyyyyy over the top.

Michigan hasn't won a national title or been to a Final Four, let alone won a Big Ten title. Our bar should be a little bit higher for hosting an entire night in honor of a coach.

I think he feels appreciated by DB's public support, his contract situation, and the steadily increasing interest and support of the basketball program. Keep going in this trajectory and I have no problem with an appreciation night 10 years down the road...

Normally I'm not one to correct word usage or grammar, but this is a big pet peeve of mine.  When using the phrase "let alone", the more impressive/less likely thing should follow the "let alone", not the other way around.  Your sentence should read, "Michigan hasn't won a Big Ten title, let alone been to a final four or won a national title."

But I will always find it hard to believe how fast things can change.  After indiana and northwestern bad losses some people on this blog were calling for the head of John Beilein . 's he

Then again (ahem), some people responded to them by suggesting that JB should be under serious consideration for BT Coach of the Year.  I really think he has to be BTCotY now.  Who else in the BT has exceeded expectations like JB and Michigan have?

the fans.  How crazy would the place get when the entire team walks out, stands at center court and applauds the crowd?  And when the PA guy announces that the entire team is back next year for "another run to the NCAAs", I could see the players getting jacked up too.

It should definitely be fan appreciation night and they should pass out those "boom sticks" to the students.  Have they done that there recently?  I remember a game years ago where they passed them out and it was ridiculous.  It was so loud and obnoxious but so fun for the students.

"Since there is no senior appreciation night".  Hardaway is a freshman.  Morris a sophomore.  No seniors and only 2 juniors with any real playing time.  And they're a bubble team?  A couple bounces go our way and we're a lock?  With that team? God help our opponents over the next couple years.  They're going to need it...
