Club Hockey Team going to Nationals

Submitted by Trauber19 on
While it's only the club team and doesn't compare to the d-1 team winning the ccha regular season title. They beat the 3 and 4 seed in their regional playoffs to clinch a bid to Nationals in San Jose. Nationals are March 15th-19th. Go Blue!

How much of a chance would I have to make the club team? I'm a smaller-build guy that was always good at hockey but couldn't play in college because I'm tall but skinny. I'm really fast though, which was my main strength. I assume I could play in a club at most schools except michigan, but I went here because it was my dream school.

Michigan's club team has not been historically good. They are Division-II in Club. So your statement of making a club team at "most schools" is pretty inaccurate. Davenport (MI) has one of the BEST teams in the country for D-I Club and can compete with some small D-III Varsity schools. This is the first year Michigan's club team has been consitantly good. If you didn't at least play for your High School in High School, you probably won't make it. If you played Travel or AA/AAA, you have a great shot at making it.

"This is the first year (they've) been consistantly good"

Wrong.  Club Team went to Nationals in 2003 and 2005 and has typically always had a winning season.

Your statement about high school/travel, however, is accurate.
