It's turning into a short story.

Tom, I'm wondering if you could highlight any major changes in our recruiting now as opposed to last year at this time.  Not in terms of the type of player recruited, but region and number.  Obviously, less Florida guys targeted.  But did RR offer much less in Ohio (or just not get commits?).  What about the number of offers handed out?  We see a lot of offers and so the appearance is that Hoke is really going hard.  But are our offer numbers drastically different than years past?

Last year was Rich Rod's third year at Michigan, so it might not make sense to compare his third year to Hoke's first year.

Either way, Michigan offered 28 kids in Ohio (according to Rivals) last year (Three of them, Frank Clark, Antonio Poole, and Keith Heitzman were from Brady Hoke), 26 in 2010, and 10 in 2009. I don't know how accurate that is, it's what Rivals has in their database.

Michigan has offered somewhere around 12 Ohio kids so far for this year. Different factors can go into that though, so I don't know how much you want to read into that. The 2012 class in Ohio is loaded.

I think what Tom is politely saying is read into the numbers what you will between who RR or Hoke has offered and where but in the end all coaches go to where the talent is. It really is that simple. This year Ohio is really loaded, couple that with a small OSU class, you are probably going to see a lot of Ohio kids getting offers. RR didn't shy away from Ohio it is just this year is a bit of a perfect storm scenario for Michigan.
