TomVH: Terry Richardson Meeting with Michigan Tomorrow

Submitted by TomVH on

I just got off the phone with Cass Tech DB Terry Richardson and he told me he's supposed to be meeting with Greg Mattison tomorrow. "My coach told me that we're going to meet with the defensive coordinator tomorrow around five. I don't really know what it's about, my coach didn't say anything about an offer or anything, so we'll find out tomorrow," he said.

I also talked to his teammate LB Royce Jenkins-Stone to see if he was supposed to be a part of the meeting, but he hadn't heard anything about it. They both sounded like they weren't sure what to expect, and Royce said he'll probably get some information about it tomorrow from Coach Wilcher.

You'd have to think that this could potentially be an offer coming their way. I don't know if it is, obviously, but we'll find out soon. To reiterate, I don't know if they're being offered, it just seems like it would be the natural progression.

Cass Tech will always be a pipeline if Wilcher's there. I'd like to see if Hoke and co. can get into some of MSU's feeder schools in the future (Farmington Hills, Renaissance, Southeastern, etc.).

Let's get these kids an offer on the table ASAP which like Tom said would appear to be happening. After that it's dinner with Mattison followed by a verbal to Michigan.

is great news because this will give us that strong connection with the inner-city schools that RR never really got. if we get both of those players we will have 2 great players and start of recruiting on a great start

the school that had a guy steering recruits directly to East Lansing? I bet if you were a State fan you'd be bitching at Dantonio for not getting into Cass Tech.

Also, you say your excited because this will get is into the other inner-city schools that RR didn't get to? How so? We have already been into the school mentioned, so what difference will this make for Hoke that it didn't for RR.

This is not factual, RR never had that problem.

Well at least you have an informed rational opinion about it.

EDIT: Sorry, responded to the wrong post.

Further EDIT: Just kidding, no I didn't.  BTW, as requested, I will go ahead and hate you for your completely absurd opinion.  Have a nice day.

I've been accused of using straw men in arguments on this board.  Why would I bother doing that when there are so many good examples of @#$%tards accusing RichRod of everything under the sun?

maizeandblue21 is a perfect example of someone who seems to truly believe that RichRod ignored an important part of Michigan when recruiting.  He got him some anti-RichRod Kool Aid!

I just blogged about this, but it seems weird. Either they really want to impress how much these kids mean to them without actually offering them, or they want to make the offer presentation extra special? I was expecting them to wait until the Showcase to offer, but this could change.

If you looked at some of the recruits we lost out on this year many of them said that they didn't get enough attention from Michigan early on. Hoke and Mattison are definitely trying to change that right now. Show these recruits the love, show it early, and keep it coming. Win on the field and everything else will fall into place.

I think it's gonna be harder to land Richardson than Jenkins-Stone, so they might be giving him a little more personal attention. Richardson already has a pretty nice offer list, but it would be nice if he were an inch or two taller.
