OT- To all our MgoStalkers

Submitted by ATLalumni on

This is from an ESPN insider article a few minutes ago:

Tweet of the Day: From the Tennessee Volunteers compliance department:

NCAA rules prohibit fans from contacting prospective student-athletes. This includes interactions on facebook and twitter.

While I still think you're all creepy that do this, at least you're not alone.

I understand that there must be a rule on the books for this, but it seems nearly impossible to enforce.

I didn't know that is the case. But, you have to wonder, why doesn't the NCAA just prohibit athletes from having public twitter and facebook accounts (i.e. make them private, for friends only).

Are you talking about Adamum5.  I haven't seen him post recently and it seems like his twitter has been deleted or hidden.  He was the guy who was tweeting to Copper, Countess and other recruits.  He was also tweeting to pornstars which is also creepy in its own way.

You can get a flavor of what happened in this thread:

I enjoy stalking members of popular sports-related blogs and message boards.  That's not against NCAA rules, is it?

Also, I would not have worn that shirt with those pants, but hey!  You gotta be you.

If Twitter and Facebook just completed a successful peaceful revolution in Egypt, you aren't stopping them from potential NCAA football recruits.

Right?! You must know your revolutions. This one was probably as violent as the American, Russian, Chinese, Nicauragua, etc. with around 100 deaths, the military not firing upon the people protesting, protesters giving the army flowers in exchange, and the gov't issuing emergency bread supply.

You got me. This should probably be called a bloody and violent revolution. It got way out of hand.

/obvious sarcasm for an obvious stupid statement.

i wasnt aware that the NCAA knew or cared what i did on twitter or facebook,  guess i shouldnt post updates about playin roundtree on NBA2k11, he smoked me for the record,  but really how would they enforce any of this?

Seriously, HTF do you enforce this.  If they can't get Cam Newton's dad's money to stick then they will have a pretty hard time proving any sort of facebook stalking by a random fan on the internets and twitters.
