OT- To all our MgoStalkers
This is from an ESPN insider article a few minutes ago:
Tweet of the Day: From the Tennessee Volunteers compliance department:
NCAA rules prohibit fans from contacting prospective student-athletes. This includes interactions on facebook and twitter.
While I still think you're all creepy that do this, at least you're not alone.

I understand that there must be a rule on the books for this, but it seems nearly impossible to enforce.
February 1st, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
Nearly impossible to enforce? That's just fine - the NCAA is great at that.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:06 PM ^
I didn't know that is the case. But, you have to wonder, why doesn't the NCAA just prohibit athletes from having public twitter and facebook accounts (i.e. make them private, for friends only).
February 1st, 2011 at 4:15 PM ^
I'd have to imagine that that kind of rule would be way over stepping the NCAA's jurisdiction.

Some may say that I'm an mgostalker, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us, and the world will be as one.

Some may say that I'm an mgostalker, but I'm not.

the only one.
What?
That how it goes.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:07 PM ^
I don't think this is OT at all. This is a really important piece of information that more people would do well to avail themselves of.

Are you talking about Adamum5. I haven't seen him post recently and it seems like his twitter has been deleted or hidden. He was the guy who was tweeting to Copper, Countess and other recruits. He was also tweeting to pornstars which is also creepy in its own way.
You can get a flavor of what happened in this thread:

Among others. Welcome back from Bolivia.
February 1st, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
Thank you, sir. I wont fully consider out of Bolivia until I'm freed from entering CAPTCHAs everytime I post.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:07 PM ^
I enjoy stalking members of popular sports-related blogs and message boards. That's not against NCAA rules, is it?
Also, I would not have worn that shirt with those pants, but hey! You gotta be you.

If Twitter and Facebook just completed a successful peaceful revolution in Egypt, you aren't stopping them from potential NCAA football recruits.
February 1st, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
I guess those trucks burning, windows smashed, and dead cops meant it was peaceful.

I mean honestly, calling what's going on in Tunisia and Egypt as peaceful is absolutely moronic.
February 2nd, 2011 at 12:45 AM ^
Right?! You must know your revolutions. This one was probably as violent as the American, Russian, Chinese, Nicauragua, etc. with around 100 deaths, the military not firing upon the people protesting, protesters giving the army flowers in exchange, and the gov't issuing emergency bread supply.
You got me. This should probably be called a bloody and violent revolution. It got way out of hand.
/obvious sarcasm for an obvious stupid statement.

Aaaaaw kitty wants in to the boom boom room!
February 1st, 2011 at 4:16 PM ^
I would like to see them try to make me stop sending naked pictures of myself to recruits.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
If I keep tweeting tOSU recruits, will they get the death penalty?
February 1st, 2011 at 4:24 PM ^
Too bad they won't be able to comprehend your tweets.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
...I am hiding in jake fischers closet right now...ypu trying to say I should leave!?
February 1st, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
i wasnt aware that the NCAA knew or cared what i did on twitter or facebook, guess i shouldnt post updates about playin roundtree on NBA2k11, he smoked me for the record, but really how would they enforce any of this?
February 1st, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
Seriously, HTF do you enforce this. If they can't get Cam Newton's dad's money to stick then they will have a pretty hard time proving any sort of facebook stalking by a random fan on the internets and twitters.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:39 PM ^
are a "fan" and not a "friend" when they may not even know your identity on Twitter?
The NCAA needs to get out of 2002 and update their rules regarding electronic contact.
February 1st, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
Maybe they should spend more energy auditing payments from the SEC slush fund.

I'm a man, I'm almost 40.
