North American International Auto Show

Will any one in the MGo Community be attending the last two days of the NAIAS?

http://www.naias.com/the-2011-show/public-show.aspx

Guaranteed to have fridgid temperatures during the public week of the show (it happens every year) but if you're into autos, this is the place to be.

You can see concept cars, new cars, green cars and every thing between.

I know it's a very busy sports weekend for the university but I highly recommend the NAIAS, if you can make the time.

that I have NOT gone. I like to watch for the displays that have adjoining offices set up and act like I want to buy just to see how they've got the office set up.

I do not know why.

Just got back. I suggest that anyone going go to either Lafayette or American Coney Island. They are only a few blocks away and great for lunch.

I thought this years auto show was a little small not that many great cars. No exotic cars. One ferrari and a maybach. No Lamborghini or Aston Martin. Nothing too special

This years was way better than last and the NAIAS has never really been a huge stop for the likes of Maybach or Ferrari etc.  I thought the show was really good this year and the number of new cool cars was good with the new BMW 1 series m and the new explorer and all of chrysler's new cars

I went last night.

First time in about three years, but I'm happy I went. I'm really impressed with some of the newer Audi models.

Also had Slow's BBQ for the first time last night, and that place is great. Definitely lived up to the hype.

slow's had an hour and a half wait today. no dice on that.

i work in the auto industry, so i'll refrain from too much comment on the show. but yeah, cars. it was nice to see lots of people there.

I go every year and have had the privilege to attend the black tie charity preview on several occasions. This year was pretty good, though it's disappointing seeing some of the exotic car manufacturers shrinking their displays or pulling out altogether. They REALLY need to get going with the Cobo renovations
