OT- Over-Signing Recruiting Classes
How about this novel concept, you just don't allow it. If on signing day, a school has 65 players on scholarship with eligibility for the upcoming season they are only allowed to sign 20 players. If they have attrition after signing day, too bad. They can use the scholarship for a deserving walk-on or save it for next year. To me this is a no brainer. The NCAA will never adopt this as it just makes sense and is easy to manage.

I know this has been discussed, but I wonder if the NCAA will enforce its penalty against USC with regards to 15 scholarships. They have something like 25 verbals at the moment, so I will be curious to see what happens come signing day.

I think they're appealing the punishment and so it is effectively "on hold"

USC...I think they have like 9 early enrollees, which I believe can be counted towards last years scholarships #'s. The scholarship loss will probably start hurting them next year.

The way recruiting is going now is straight up whack! How does the NCAA let this happen again? Dont these colleges have ethics when it comes to screwing kids out of scholarships?

... come from a geography that has a distinct point of view on the concept of labor and the working class. This has been the case since the founding of our country and remains so today, just in less subversive terms.

Remarkably simple solution, but I think it would put the incentives and disincentives exactly as they should be. Schools would have to work hard to keep kids around. If you care about educating them that is clearly a good thing.

completely agree. Football seems to be taking the route of college basketball. a lot of 1 and done(or in footballs case 2 and done) players. I remember back when Larry Fitzgerald left after his Sophomore year how rare it was to do that.....nowadays a whole different story

Westerman...just read last night that Auburn may land 5* OL Westerman over texas. if thats the case then theres another scholarship too many for them. perhaps frost will be out of luck once again. anyone else heard anything along these lines or im being extremely optimistic?!

Auburn just landed 5* OL Christian Westerman as of noon today. I don't follow their recruiting so I don't know if they held a scholarship for him or what. Hopefully they try to grayshirt Frost and he is ours to take.
