Coaches Nicknames

Submitted by Cock D on

If Bo Schembechler was Bo;

And Gary Moeller was Mo;

Then Lloyd Carr was Lo (I thought people were straining when going there);

Is Brady Hoke going to be called Ho?

Or will the tradtion of making Bo lineage coaches have a nickname that rhymes with Bo die a merciful death?

It's odd that nothing has been said about the position coaches before and since Mattison got hired, I'd like to think we're talking to Corwin Brown, the DB coach at New England. There's also still the question as to what positions need to be filled, besides DB coach. I think there is room for a DL coach, but that seems like potential overkill with Hoke and Mattison, maybe not. Then someone on WTKA, I can't remember who, suggested a safeties coach, which would be interesting, but almost seems as overkill as a DL coach. However, considering the secondary's relative experience now, it wouldn't be the worst idea.

Terrible.

I will be pimping, "Old Man Mattison" for the next several years. But don't get it twisted, I love me some Mattison.

At least if OSU decides to pick up where the left off with Lloyd, it'll at least be funny to hear them say "Hhhhhhhhoke."  Maybe they'll even pass out?

I don't think Hoke needs to have his name shortened, much like Carr didn't need to be called Lo. Actually any of the best nicknames for Hoke would make his name longer. As for Greg Mattison, he might be a good candidate for a nickname.
