4* TE Chris Barnett to visit weekend of Jan. 28

Submitted by MH20 on

Via Rivals, 4* TE Chris Barnett will be visiting the weekend of January 28.  He's currently a commit to Arkansas, but has seemingly opened up his recruitment as he is visiting Michigan, as well as Miami this weekend.  (Note to Al Golden: kindly FUAD.)

No word on our chances per se, but hey, if you can get 'em on campus anything's possible.

what are you the recruiting coordinator in SB?  Rivals lists an offer, so...

Anyway, I'm a closet ND fan myself (though very distant second to M, and by soon-to-be-marriage).  I was at the Tulsa game, and lordy that was a low point on campus.  Things have turned dramatically eh?  Kelly better learn to run the ball from that spread though

I followed his recruitment for a bit when he was on UT's radar.  Getting him to campus for an OV is good, but I could see him being a bit of a fickle personality even after the ink has dried on his LOI.

That said, I'd say he's the best pass-catching tight end in Texas this year.  He's showed out pretty well at camps, and has really great hands.  Off the cuff, something like a less-athletic version of Jermichael Finley might be an ok comparison.

Are there any other big time programs who are proudly old school pro style?

don't most programs profess a love for the spread?

not many people to have to compete against for quality pro style players like TEs and 6'5" slow QBs
