Question about D. Hart

Submitted by Ziff72 on

Saw this exchange on the ESPN chat wrap.  Is Hart really going to play CB at Alabama?  This seemed odd. Come back Dee Al coached Cadillac and R. Brown!!!!

What are the chances that Isaiah Crowell will commit with Alabama after Hart had such a good game in the Amry All-American game?

John - it should not have an impact has Hart is being recruited to play corner for the Tide

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this was talked about before he officially committed to Bama and we thought it odd then because they weren't taking him as a RB but as a DB/KR/PR.

Always thought it was a bit odd.  How he wanted to play in a spread but left to alabama which was recruiting him for defense.  Oh well, on with Hoke-a-Mania.... unless D wants to come back, im ok with that.

He didn't get shown the love he and his family expected on his official visit so he bolted.  Maybe someday he'll be a Big Ten RB, but he isn't one now.  He arguably wasn't even the best RB on his HS team.

If you remember his recruitment, he was going to wait to see how a couple teams performed and picked ND even before the first game.  Jumped ship after a bad start and not enough love and committed to us the next day.

But he doesn't want to play for Michigan...HC change shouldn't matter that much if you're 'committed' to play at a school like Michigan.  I wonder why we don't consider this a great filter for the class...we're getting the players that really want to come here, get a degree, and where the helmet proudly.

At no point in my sentence did I say that Mattison did a bad job coaching the Ravens D. He maintained something that was strong to begin with, and that still speaks volumes. Looking at how the youth on the D has progressed in the past 2 years would be more indicative of what Mattison is capable of... and watching Suggs against the Steelers and the aggressive nature of their D in general made me quite pleased with the hire. Hopefully he can bring that kind of physicality and mentality back to Michigan's defense.

Actually, looking at Bama's RB's depth chart would lead me to believe he should stay at RB.  Ingram's gone, and Richardson will be the starter next year, but Saban's shown he's more than willing to play 2 backs consistently.  Next year Hart would be fighting with Lacy (4 star in 09, not that great in his brief appearances this year) and another 4 star in the '10 class for playing time as the 2nd back.   After next year Richardson is most likely gone as well, so if Hart can cut it, playing time is there to be had, and early.  In the '10 class alone they signed 6 DB's with an average star rating of 4 stars, so it's not like they're lacking talent in the secondary.

Listening to Sirius, the Top Rb in GA is expected to give his love to Satan instead of staying home with Richt.  When I heard that I wondered who would find that they no longer have a scholly next year.  Now if Dee is playing CB that changes the equation just a little bit.

Good luck Dee.  We'll know in 2012 if you made the right choice.
