OT: College football crime report - Jan. 15

Submitted by Alaska Hokie on

Here's a roundup of notable arrests and incidents related to college football during the past week. Most of these are not eligible for the Fulmer Cup, but nonetheless might be interesting to you, the informed college football reader. Be warned: Many of these are somewhat grim.

This was oddly and some what disturbidly interesting.  Young men certainly make some outladish mistakes.  Can really tell a cop with a gun drawn, "but hey I was a college football player...once."

Former Middle Tennessee State football player Reginald Doucet Jr. was shot and killed by the LAPD on Friday after resisting arrest following a streaking incident.

The dude is naked, so you can clearly see he doesn't have a gun and you still shoot him? That just makes no sense. Tazer, pepper spray, so many other options there.

I am far too lazy to tackle the chore, but I know there are some dedicated people here who could do it justice...

Since the Fulmer Cup only counts out-of-season arrests and Michigan State (and other) players generally get arrested in-season, a Dantonio Cup is warranted.  I'm certain a prison-to-practice run would earn lots of nice extra D-Cup points as well.   Any industrious takers...?

For a Saturday evening. This one struck me as very odd and excessive:

Former Middle Tennessee State football player Reginald Doucet Jr. was shot and killed by the LAPD on Friday after resisting arrest following a streaking incident.

I mean, really? Maurice Clarrett was basically armed to take down a small European country and he wasn't even shot at. Although, Mo never tried to steal the officers' guns while he was being detained, so...yea.

Lesson of the day: don't streak in LA then get into a fight with cops and try to steal their weapons.
