Best words to hear as a Steelr fan. "It's Ravens week". This is going to be yet another classic. Hopefully Pittsburgh pullsi t off and moves on.

I really cant remeber, but did Troy play in the Pats game? It would be very different if he was out during that game.

January 15th, 2011 at 4:17 PM ^
Close, low scoring, lots of defense, basically what everyone on NFL network said. 16-13 Baltimore in OT.

Anyone seen the new Old Spice commercial with RayLew riding a jet powed raven and destroying Saturn?

They better have given the Nanooks a royalty for this...
January 15th, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
I think this will be the best game of the playoff season.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:34 PM ^
How bout Steelers vs Pats in AFC championship game? If it happens I should say.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
I am hoping for Packers vs. Bears in Soldiers Field for a trip to the SB myself but looking forward to Jets vs Patriots tomorrow as well. Should be a good game today-Go Pitt!
January 15th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
I don't have a horse in the race but I always live watching these teams play. Defense, to me, is what football is all about. Woodley bringing the wood makes the difference: Pitt 17, Ravens 10.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
.....except my kids are huge fans of Yo Gabba Gabba. Perhaps if they did the halftime show? Better still, lock myself in the basement and pretend I didn't hear the utter destruction upstairs.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
DB starting QB for the Ravens, he can do it all.....
January 15th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
Great. An Auburn/Oregon esque tackle to start the game. Elbow hit, that'll be coming back.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:41 PM ^
Ugh...god damn screens. Harrison should've seen Gay coming in and try to go back into some coverage. Oh well.

Ross Evoy is an 8th grader at Clague Middle School in Ann Arbor. His phone number is1-734-660-2341. Ross enjoys playing football, basketball, and infuriating me
Ive read Mgoblog since December 2009, but Ross destroyed my old account by using it to post random spam such as "Hello, just wanted to say Hello."
so i use this account to flame Ross!
his sister Sam goes to U of M, btw

This is a grown mans game. I am buying ice packs just watching this one.

Time to see if Big Ben gets another nose job.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:46 PM ^
If Stafford can stay healthy next year, the Lions will, dare I say, be good.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
If Stafford can stay healthy, yes, they should win 8-10 games and compete for a wild card spot.
Big if though, obviously.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:47 PM ^
And the officials target the Steelers once again. Reed starts the BS, and only Ward gets called.
January 15th, 2011 at 6:18 PM ^
And Taylor headbutts Houshmanzadeh, and nothing gets called. Chill, the officials aren't hosing anybody.
In full disclosure... go Ravens.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:49 PM ^
3 gold stars to anyone who knows who Bradlee Van Pelt is. That's without googling him. He now offers expert coverage of the games on Sky Sports in the UK.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
If I got that right, I almost feel bad...
PS I didn't know that the NFL was on in the UK. Is it mostly for expats or has this annual gamein Wembly acutally paid off for the league?
January 15th, 2011 at 5:21 PM ^
Started for the Bills for a little while, IIRC.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
Like Cheesehead said Colorado State QB from a couple of years back. To justify this post he's also the son of Brad Van Pelt LB for MSU back in the day, died of a heart attack two-ish years ago. Grew up with/was kinda friends with my mom too, as a random personal side note
January 15th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
Like you all soda correctly he was the Colorado State QB and broke many records. He was in the NFL for a few years but never got any significant game time. He moved to play with the Leicester Falcons in the UK an I was able to way h him play. He was an absolute beast playing against guys who would struggle to make it against decent high school teams. Btw American football is the fastest growing sport in the UK
January 15th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
Touchdooooown Steelers! Great hit by Reed on the previous play though.
January 15th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
Glad to hear Michigan's own Dan Dierdorf doing this game!
January 15th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
He was always a favorite of mine of MNF. Wish he could do UofM games.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
God damn Ryan Clark. I never liked him. He always whiffs on open tackles and only seems to make "big hits" on defenseless recievers, and just there might have taken Taylor our of the game. Ugh.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
Rule of thumb: Any game that was predicted to be "A CLOSE BATTLE OF TWO GLADIATORS" by the Worldwide leader all week will turn out to be at least a double digit victory for one of the two teams
January 15th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
I know there is an obvious disparity in speed from College to Pros, but doesn't it seem that Mendenhall is as explosive as once was when at Illinois? Plus, he really doesn't have great vision and reading ability. I wonder if that is a product of playing in a read option offense, or the fact that he is pretty mediocre.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Mendenhall has not disappointed at all in Pittsburgh.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:10 PM ^
Yeah, from a production stand point he has done well these last two seasons. It just seemed like he was more of a "homerun threat" in college. He has become more of a buirser.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
Baltimore's Defense is a notch or two above Northwestern's.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
I'm watching the end of "Enter The Dragon" right now where Bruce Lee is kicking about ~6000 kung fu dudes' asses. And now he just picked up[ nunchukas. Damn. Time for football, I guess.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:07 PM ^
TJ Whosyomomma is a douche.
And on the next play, not sure how holding didn't get called.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:09 PM ^
but Taylor head butted him. Totally uncalled for.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:16 PM ^
Ed Reed also ripped Ward down by the facemask early on. Nothing get called.
And that last play on Bens knee made me have flashbacks of Tom Brady.
January 15th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
He was great lining up on the opposite of Chad Johnson when CJ was in his prime and sucking up double teams. Didn't think he was relevent anymore after flaming out in Seattle.
