Anyone watching Oregon-USC?

in the other thread. But is there even a midline? we were trying to figure it out

I just tuned in, and it's pretty gross.

It looks like shit on my TV, but that could be due to the SD feed on my high-def screen.
On second thought, nope, I think it looks shit on its own.

It's not your TV

oops, forgot a word

If you just swing by and use it for a bit, no big deal, but dont date it.

Both teams are missing lay-ups and doinking 3-pointers off the rim. I'm going to find a better game to watch now.

Wow this would take some getting used to. My eyes immediately go to the light part in the middle and makes it seem like the court is really narrow. So distracting.

I keep thinking TV is going out.

We are watching an Oregon basketball game we never would have if it wasn't being played on this court. Damn you Phil Knight.....

I only watched about 5 minutes of it. I hope the TV advertisers got their money's worth out of my viewing.

That coach looked at her like "WTF are you talking about" when she said "you finished off the first game in this new arena" after only one half

I'm wondering if watching this game might actually damage my TV.
January 13th, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
It's the execution. The color contrast is too much. And yet at the same time, the dark parts aren't dark enough. Everything needs to be darker. It looked a lot better in the mockup than the final product.

Definitely no midline. They flashed back to him talking before the game, and the lights are off and you still can't see any line.

I can see what appears to be a transparent/translucent stripe at the midline, as well as a tip circle embedded in the "O," but I have a pretty decent sized tv (50 in.). And it isn't easy to see- you have to look for the light reflecting off of it. I imagine the refs can see it, though. If you put, say, scotch tape down on your wood floor in your house, or clear packing tape, you could see it.

It is still better than watching at football game at Boise State or Eastern Washington...
I have been telling my friends lately that I wouldn't be surprised for Oregon to win a national title in basketball in the next 10 years. Phil Knight has done a lot to put Oregon in the national spotlight from the highlighter yellow socks or this. To be completely honest, I'd be looking at Oregon at a second option behind Michigan right about now.

But can all that overcome the fact that Eugene is a lily-white town in the middle of nowhere?
January 14th, 2011 at 12:35 AM ^
I think it can. I don't know many high school athletes who wouldn't want to have ten billion uniform combinations, as well as having the CEO of Nike at your finger tips to provide the school with whatever you need.

It probably does help some, but I feel like the facility upgrades are going to reach a saturation point eventually. How many times can you keep upgrading the locker room?
January 14th, 2011 at 10:40 AM ^
Once you get the program going by using Nike's moneys, recruits will want to come because you win. Most college campuses are not in the most exciting places. Gainesville is pretty boring and not that close to anything.

WTF is going on here with this court? I see a large stain in the middle of a larger stain. Did the Giant of the Forest spill his paint can?

That is weird, cool, and annoying at the same time.
