Is it the 2011 season yet?
After watching Brady Hoke completely tear up his presser this afternoon, the majority of fans are really pumped up. He did a tremendous job trying to get us to buy into who he is. Admittedly, I was skeptical before the presser but after listening to his speech, I am ready for the next season to start.
Folks, we have what seems like 1,875,364 days until they kickoff again. Do you realize that we have to go through March Madness, the NBA finals, the fourth of July, and the majority of the MLB season before we get to see the Michigan Wolverines in action again?
I think the problem is, we have been inundated with the latest breaking news regarding the football team that it feels like the season is still going on. As time winds down, the excitement will start to wear off, and our focus will turn to other subjects.
I'm sure that between now and September there will be many things that will make us irritated but hopefully the program will build off of today's positivity.
I still feel for Rich Rodriguez, but I have Brady Hoke's full support and with the passion he showed today, I'm sure it will spill over to his football team. Let's hope for a positive offseason and a successful 2011 season.
Enjoy the other sports that are going to be played. I think we all need a break from this madness.

The NBA is worse. I would rather watch curling.

Curling is actually pretty fun to play once you get the hang of it. That said, I'd rather watch Canadian football and/or 65+ golf tournaments than curling.

I'm glad you have Brady's support. Now give it back.

Well I have a spring break trip to Cali and a month long vacation planned in Hawaii this summer, so I am not yet ready for the 2011 season. If you want to fast forward, allow me to take my planned trips, fast forward again to kickoff, I will gladly let you. But Cali and Hawaii are now in my sights.

Sometimes I wish I was Rip Van Winkle and I could just wake up on the day I want it to be.
In this case, September 3

It makes me sad that you mention the NBA finals and yet leave out the Stanley Cup playoffs... but I agree with most of what you said. I'm not sure if I'll be able to wait so long to see if we're any good. *sits and waits*

At least I'll have the NHL playoffs to tide me over, hopefully with the Wings playing til June. Always makes the time pass a little faster. Although I'm stuck in Texas until at least mid-May so we'll see how much hockey I get down here.

Join our vigil, friends. Post on these threads every day at midnight to bring the 2011 season here a little quicker. Lighting candles optional.
