I am very confident that Hoke will adjust to use Denard to the best of his abilities on the field.

<br>Brady Hoke knows it is in the best interest of the team to make it work.

Matt Foley: [ runs up the stairs, bouncing back and forth as he talks ] Alright, how's everybody? Good! Good! Good! Now, as your father probably told you, my name is Matt Foley, and I am a Motivational Speaker! Now, let's get started by me giving you a little bit of a scenario of what my life is all about! First off, I am 35 years old.. I am divorced.. and I live in a van down by the river! Now, you kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river! Now, young man, what do you want to do with your life?

I hope I am not reading too much into it, but I would have preferred that Hoke refer to Denard as a quarterback and not an athlete. Denard could interpret some of these things negatively, even if it is not the intention.

Gus Johnson is my all time fav announcer and he said he was a big fan of Michigan football. I did not know that. Awesome. Anyways, hopefully Denard, who is climbing up the charts rather quickly as my all time favorite wolverine, stays put. Hoke and company know how big of an asset Denard is and they will utilizie him as necessary, which is at qb. Borges has been around a long time, he will know what to do.

I think people feeling uncomfortable about Coach Hoke's comments about touching players says more about the people who feel uncomfotable than it does about Coach Hoke.

Hoke is very charismatic, and seems to genuinely care about his players.  This should help him a lot with Denard.  After about a year or two of school, players develop fully-functioning BS detectors and know whether the coaches care about them or not.  I'm pretty sure Hoke more than passes the BS test.  I would imagine that it is now a matter of him convincing Denard that he will get to run an offense that uses his strengths.

Hopefully, this happens tomorrow, and Hoke is true to his word in spring practice.

I agree...as I watched the presser, at first I was questioning Hoke. He seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the situation.  But as the presser went on, you could sense the fire and the passion that he brings to Michigan.  By the time he was through, it was easy to understand how he might be able to seriously relate to his players. If you had any doubt about the importance of The Rivalry, it wasn't lost on Hoke.

I have to say, I was impressed.
