Other coaches inquiring about Denard?
per Joe Shads twitter..Art Taylor(denards HS coach) says other coaches from around the country have called.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
Of course they are.
"Denard, we're running the spread option here, you'll be the perfect fit. Transfer!"
January 12th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
I'm pretty sure that isn't legal.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
most coaches don't care about that.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
They were calling his HS coach, not Denard
January 12th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
If Denard doesn't know about it it isn't illegal, right?
January 12th, 2011 at 5:48 PM ^
was approved by a certain tiger...

Cecil Newton says hello.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
It's not illegal, just frowned upon. Like masterbating on an airplane.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:38 PM ^
Thanks a lot, Bin Laden.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
from personal experience????
January 12th, 2011 at 5:46 PM ^
Thanks, I really needed a good laugh.
January 12th, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
"I'm pretty sure that's illegal too!"
January 12th, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
They'd be stupid not to. I still think we're in good shape if we can show we can still maximize his skills. His tweets also said that he doesn't want to leave or sit out a year.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
ummm, pretty sure he doesn't have a twitter account
(http://www.greenfieldreporter.com/view/story/ec47457941284cf687f1615d5c…)
so how does he tweet?
January 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
I meant Joe Schad's tweets about Denard's coach's comments.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
Me thinks you're following a fake
January 12th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
BETTER FUCKING NOT BE!
January 12th, 2011 at 5:28 PM ^
dont see it happening, but what if denard went out of the way to contact a different coach? Can that coach then speak to denard, or is that illegal too?
January 12th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
initate the contact then it's not illegal. The coach is free to talk to Denard as long as the coach doesn't directly contact Denard first.
It's clever that they called his HS coach to inquire about Denard. I'm sure that his HS coach will relay that info to Denard.
There has to be tons of schools who runs the spread option, lining up to get Denard.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
Denard can call the coaches, but they can't call him
January 12th, 2011 at 5:29 PM ^
makes players recruitable again? Don't think so...what fucking weasels.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
This is my new wallpaper, fwiw. http://ow.ly/i/7aAq
January 12th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
We can all speculate but I dont think anyone knows yet, even Denard.
I am surprised coaches can proactively call players at other schools and try to poach, seems like that would be off limits, given all the NCAA rules. It clearly cant be in the best interests of the "student-athlete" like the NCAA always claims they are looking out for.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
not sure that this falls into "a source tells me" territory. Also, you must have misread the quotes. The HS coach is being called, not Denard Robinson. Of things I would expect out of SEC coaches, any coaches really, this is low on the shocking meter.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
I've already posted this photo in another thread, but it shows one coach that's recuiting him FOR SURE!
January 12th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
Courtney Avery has not had a sip of that Gatorade....DISEASE? INFECTION? HE DOESN'T LIKE THE GATORADE AND IS TRANSFERRING?
Sorry. The past few weeks have gotten my rumor mongering going

Your a joke
January 12th, 2011 at 5:36 PM ^
1. Muschamp calls Denard's HS Coach
2. HS Coach calls Denard telling him Muschamp's interest and provides his number
3. Denard calls Muschamp about possibly transferring
All legit since Muschamp did not contact Denard. Don't mean to muddy Florida's reputation, but they are in the SEC!
January 12th, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
Arent they running a pro style offense now in Gainesville? Doubt he would go there. I know you were just making a point, but I doubt he'd leave UM for UF.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
How much information on Joe Schad's twitter has been correct in the past week?
January 12th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
A negative percentage, actually. Mathematicians are fascinated that it's even possible.
January 12th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
Have screwed with Schads twitter algorithm.
It works quite well for him, the more he is wrong the more we see him on TV to expain wrongness and the more he gets paid.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
I will assume that he at least knows his own name. At least that much should be correct....
January 12th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
Kind of like the way he tweeted that "Borges can run a spread"
January 12th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
...He's right 60% of the time...everytime
EDIT: People with twitter should follow this man. Makes me giggle.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
If anything, it's because he plays darts with a shotgun.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:40 PM ^
Joe Schad is dead to me.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:44 PM ^
gurgle gurgle
January 12th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
I hope Denard calls every coach using this tactic and personally tells them to fuck off.
He wouldn't. but I'm still imagining it.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:47 PM ^
It would definitely hurt to see Denard go as he seems like a great person and a special athlete. However, lets not overvalue one player. As we have seen this year, it takes 22 players to compete on the big level. If Denard wants to go somewhere else then his heart is not here at UM and he was not the team player/competitor we all thought. he was. Michigan is built off of years of tradition and hard work by several thousands of people not one person. Tom Brady was once considering transferring but he stayed because he had something to prove. Let's hope Denard makes the same decision.
January 12th, 2011 at 5:49 PM ^
The only problem with Denard leaving is the fact that we lose a QB and Tate is not eligible and the fact that others may see it as a way out and start transferring as well.
January 12th, 2011 at 6:10 PM ^
The only thing? Denard accounted for over 4,000 yards last season IIRC. He's the team's unquestioned leader. It's not armegeddon, but don't shrug it off that it's only a problem because Tate's no longer enrolled, etc. Denard's the best quarterback, athlete, and football player on the team, in my opinion.
