I having an undefeated regular season in the mac, and with a team under severe sanctions isn't that impressive. Or a two year turn around at SDSU, which was the best year they have had in over a decade. And, if you look at the talent he had there, you never would guess that he would finish 3rd in that conference, and lose by a combined 12 points to Missouri, Utah, and TCU.

Do some homework before you go making outlandish comments will you.

I'd like to ask the anti-Hoke crowd how they think the 2010 Michigan Wolverines would've fared against Missouri, Utah, and TCU. Do you think we would've beaten any of them? Or even been competitive with them? With more recruited talent than the lowly SDSU Aztecs?

Rich Rod was HUSTLING the Big Ten and the NCAA.  Next year he was just going to PLAY DEFENSE, start caring two poops about Special Teams and then actually field a viable offense against GOOD teams and we were going to go 16-0 in a 14 game schedule (including the National Championship of course)!  Yeah, that's why I'm depressed we have a coach who's actually going to try to win instead of trying to be right.

It's about Brady Hoke.  Comparing Hoke to RR is just idiotic and irrelevant.  Most of us on this board want to see Michigan compete for Big Ten and national titles.  Some people here don't think Hoke is the guy that will get us there, and they have a right to their opinion.  Stop making this about RR, it has nothing to do with him.

Hoke will win.  In 3 years Hoke will win more games and more Big Ten games than RR has done over the past 3.  Naysayers will say that it is because of RR's players.  No, it will be from improved defense and special teams which are more than 50% of football, a concept which RR does not understand.

SDSU was 37th in points allowed this year with 22.1, obviously far better than Michigan.  Plus to top that off their offense could put up points as well.  They put up 35 points against TCU (@TCU also), who had the #1 Defense in points per game with 12.   That 35 was the most TCU had given up all year with the next most being 24 @SMU.  We won't be rough shape with him.

I watched the highlights of the TCU game and the score is a little deceiving. The defense recovered a fumble in the endzone for one score, got a pick in TCU territory, and scored most of their points in the fourth quarter when TCU pulled starters/started coasting due to a big lead.

Let's be realistic, if Hoke can bring that kind of luck to the defensive side of the ball...I'll take it.  Even if it was 40-21 or 40-14, thats still a fairly impressive showing against the #3 team and top defense.   They also held them to 7-18 on 3rd down when they converted 53% all year.

This coaching search wore my brain out, but I also realized that although many of us became very emotional over the last week, things are not all fire and brimstone. 

Hoke does not come with the national championship already in his bag, he doesnt come in as the FOTM coach.  What he does bring is stability to this divided faction of UM fans that Brandon talked about and the same division we see on these boards.  He comes in passionate about UM football, more then either of the two other 'potential' hires. 

The man knows football, the man did a hell of a job when he coached here @ UM before.  Do some of you forget the players he coached or brought into the program?  Carr liked him enough to give him the title, Assistant Head Coach while they worked together.

Count to 10 UM fans.
