Since we are closing in on 250 how about a new one to help with F5 day?

Hard to believe, if Miles staying at LSU is a done deal, that the AD wouldn't have released a huge statement saying so. Even if they're working out stuff in his contract, I'd think he'd want to put an end all this speculation. On the other hand, if he was definitely leaving, wouldn't LM be calling a team meeting?

they kill us in the Dallas Turkey Sacrifice Bowl, don't say I didn't warn you guys. Les only eats grass to improve digestion in his second stomach--that's nothing to hold against him. The very mediocre offenses he has fielded despite prizing wins from betwixt his buttch**ks, will prove more of a problem. I don't need lectures from any of the smart guys here about how luck, in fact, DOESN'T really ever catch up with anyone. . . it WILL still catch up with him if he comes to SNAKEBITE, MI.

I'm fairly certain that firing RR will come back to bite UM at some point, but I think it was time for a change given what we've seen out of a vocal portion of the fanbase (including the media) these past few years.  You can't have a coach basically working off of 1-year contracts while the local guys throw cheap shots in the media - it is counter-productive and won't ultimately help the program.  I know that RR will be a better person for triyng to make it work at UM, and I'm sure the Wolverines will recover.  But everyone needed to give it more time, and failure to do so is the most saddening part of the whole experience.

Hated to see RR rgo. But it is water over the dam. No turning back now. I do think that with Warren and Woolfolk active this year, that might have been enough to give us another win or two, stay more competitive against the big boys, and give RR another year. But "what ifs" and "if onlys" don't help us now.

We may  or may not know who our coach is by the end of the day, but I can tell you that there is currently no deal with Les Miles right now.  Doesn't mean there won't be by the end of the day.  Doesn't mean anything except if people are thinking there already is, there isn't.  This comes straight from the most trusted mod on Rivals who has been absolutely right about everything thus far during this whole process.

All it takes to be right thus far is to repeated state, "No one knows anything." I've been saying that for weeks, thus I'm one of the most credible sources on the internet, so you can take this as gospel truth:

The University of Michigan will take an unorthodox approach to the football program when they use mad (read: evil) science to resurrect General George S. Patton to lead the Wolverines in 2011. While looking to the military is a risky move, the university feels that Patton's special brand of zombie leadership and undead discipline is exactly what the program needs.

Which is exactly why he'll be reporting the zombie Patton-as-coach plan later today, I'm just giving you an inside scoop.

In all seriousness, though, at this point, anyone who isn't Brandon doesn't hold much water. Not because the source has been wrong in the past, just simply because of the very closed door way in which Brandon is running things. I don't have anything against Balas or Rivals (I don't even read Rivals, so I have no idea who Balas is), but this situation has been such a need-to-know affair, that any and all insider knowledge is suspect in my opinion.

Three new tweets of interest (to me at least)

1) mikerothstein: Sitting outside Schemechler Hall.  Towncar with tinted windows pulled up about 10 minutes ago and is sitting there waiting for someone.

2) mikerothstein: This, obviously, could likely be nothing.

3) According to @ESPN_BIG12, Les Miles not in attendance at FBS coaches meeting this morning in Dallas but still scheduled to speak at 3 ET.

Les Miles:  A return to the days when we played down to our opponents and ended up with 8-9 win seasons while people will slowly return to complaining about the coach who never gets younger.....  I hope that Les Miles is smarter football-wise having had success in the SEC.  I suspect he is not and I hope Denard isn't dotting the I formation next year, but that would still be better than Denard at Oregon next year......

Has anyone else seen that flight is SCHEDULED from Willow Run to Scottsdale, to depart in about 20 minutes ? It was supposed to leave 40 minutes ago. Its previous flight - from Westchester, NY (where the search firm is). Hasn't taken off yet though.

Its not DBs plane, but it belongs to some  plane rental company (NCI),  I don't know how this would fit in though . . .

to be speaking in Dallas from 2-2:50pm CT that's 3-3:50 ET..That makes it REAL hard for him to be here at 4pm for the players meeting.  If it's him.  He'll be here sometime after the speach or tomorrow.

He said he had a "fantastic trip to Hawaii", and I believe him. That being said, the only logical conclusion I can come to, is that our new head coach will be Greg McMackin. And I for one, welcome the addition. Aloha! :)

How pissed would everyone be if LSU AD made a statement that Les Miles has agreed to a re-structured contract that keeps him at LSU until 2016 and additionally, they've added Brady Hoke to the LSU staff as a "special advisor".  I'd think Brandon might go kamikaze with that Domino's plane.

I moved to Switzerland in September, luckily with Slingbox and the interent I haven't missed much, but wow the last few weeks have been crazy trying to keep up with the 6 hour time difference.  Can anyone tell me...

How is Dave Brandon able to fly around on Domino's corp jet searching for a coach etc.?  Isn't that illegal use of corporate assets or is Michigan paying.

Why on earth is there a rumor that LSU would be willing to lower or waive the buyout I thought that the buyout clause for Miles was put in only in a situation where he would leave for Michigan.  This doesn't make any sense.  Maybe just a senseless rumor.  Or, the SEC showing pity.  Or, maybe with an agreement Miles would not pursue any of the recruits he worked on for LSU.

What is the rumor that Miles was never offered the job during the first search?  Is this just posturing or has any one corroborated this?
