How addicted are you?

Submitted by mgowake on
Today I have a meeting that decides if the product I'm proposing lives or dies. I should be prepping. However, I'm sitting here refreshing MGoBlog and fixated on "Miles to Michigan?" on ESPN.

What's the first step? Admitting you have a problem? Can someone publish a how to not be so crazily addicted to Michigan football in twelve easy steps?

I spend way too much time following this fiasco.  I just want a coach that can win, control the pressers and send Drew Sharp, Rosendouche and Snyder to Bolivian.

I haven't slept well since thursday night.  Thursday night all seemed well and JH was a strong lean.  Since he accepted the SF job, I have been in semi-panic mode.  LM is the best choice available.  Hoke seems like a nice guy and probably is a good coach, ut I just can't see him commanding this big ship.

He's too small of a rudder for this boat.

Sign and introduce LM and recruit the hell out of the last two weeks.

On a scale of 1 to "Average Foaming at the Mouth Buckeye Fan", I currently reside at "Brett Favre on morphine." Another 2 days though and I'll likely just swallow my cellphone whole in an attempt to avoid the impending DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

meetings are made to be cancelled, but in the event you cannot do so--fear not!

You'll be at your best because you won't be nervous, and you couldn't care less about the product as compared to what color shorts Les miles is wearing. You'll blow these people away and all of them will order 250 gross of whatever it is you're selling. Extemporaneous speaking at its best!

And for future reference, schedule ALL your meetings when something even half as important as this is happening, such as your anniversary, your kids' graduations/weddings, and even your own funeral.

Then you just go into your meeting wearing two different shoes, no pants, and things will HAPPEN that will astound even your psychiatrist.

I found my way past the work computer security program. My wife will be proud when I am unemployed but the first on the block with an answer to who our new coach is!

By noon I had cracked.  I drove around all morning listening to Sirius sports channels and taking the LONG WAY between offices just so I wouldn't miss anything.

I came home to get away from all the distractions at school so I could write my dissertation which is due in a week... and all I'm doing is aimlessly refreshing mgoblog. Should probably get some more done if I want to sleep at any point this week...

I have been caught at work multiple times for being on mgoblog.  Now I have the screen minimized to about a quarter of the screen.  I also found this feature in my video card at work where I can press down on the scroll wheel and it automatically switches to another application.  I have a whole system worked out which screen I use on my dual monitor depending on if my boss is in or not.

We must all be hitting F5 or all be on MGoBlog too much, considering the site is crashing half the time and its still hard to log in at times.  Still nothing better than it though........I literally dream about it at night and wake up in the morning needing to see if I missed anything.

I've re-read that "Straight from the old coaching staff!" post about a dozen times in search of hidden clues.  Then I re-read Brandon's blog post to reassure myself that the search is on the right track!

refused sex with a reasonably attractive female because I cant stop looking at the train wreck.

note: I considered calling said woman, smoking hot, but I knew no one would believe that. Pleeeze hire a coach soon, my willy hates me.

After swallowing a bottle of Xanax, and chased it down with three triple shot lattes, I am finally able to get off the couch and make it into work.  My effectiveness at work is another story though.

Honestly, I am envious of Rich Rodriguez...  He no longer has to worry about Michigan.

All I know is when Michigan gets it new coach I'm "popping bottle in the ice....like a blizzard" whats the 12 step for that?

Edit: I am also a first year Psy.D. student, but we haven't covered 12 step programs yet. Also I am totally obsessed with Michigan football as well. It sounds to me that you are likely suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, Not to be confused with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. Diagnostic criteria is as follows:

For compulsions i.e. repeated actions (often resulting from uncontrollable intrusive thoughts) such as constantly pressing the refresh button.

(1) recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are experienced, at some time during the disturbance, as intrusive and inappropriate and that cause marked anxiety or distress

(2) the thoughts, impulses, or images are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems

(3) the person attempts to ignore or suppress such thoughts, impulses, or images, or to neutralize them with some other thought or action

(4) the person recognizes that the obsessional thoughts, impulses, or images are a product of his or her own mind

if these are true to you, consult with a psychologist, I'll be ready in 4 years
