Why Les is not more.
I was just wondering if anyone could explain to me why we would want Les Miles as our coach? With his sleazy ness with over recruiting and the rumors of his negative recruiting against Michigan I don't want him anywhere near Schembechler Hall. Can any of you give me a good reason why he should be our coach other than he played here?

Cause we don't have one right now. Any port in a storm my friend....any port in a storm.

I would take the high school coach from Pioneer before him.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:09 PM ^
Are you at Applebees right now? There is a dude by the bar that looks like he doesn't know what he's talking about.

my day...

I don't know why everyone is worried about oversigning when we are losing potential members of this class like flies. We are going to need his power of signing more than he needs to to rescue it.
And he has WON a NC. Did the Pioneer coach did that?

Must be the same guy that sat behind me all season and kept applauding and screaming "yeah, Stevie Brown" every time Mouton made a tackle.

"Why is Schilling on kick coverage!??!?!" was a favorite of mine

That is why you are not our AD.

Is the Pioneer coach a Michigan alum?
According to this (PiHi), he's Chippewa scum! I hear he oversigns middle schoolers and greyshirts them with form letters!
January 9th, 2011 at 6:58 PM ^
He does have UM ties....Ian Gold's brother.....
January 9th, 2011 at 7:08 PM ^
Plus he's defensive minded
January 9th, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
enough with all the Miles is a sleeze talk, it is annoying as hell. News flash every coach lies. He isn't a saint, so what move on.

Terrelle Pryor, is that you?
January 9th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
damn grammar police.
January 9th, 2011 at 7:13 PM ^
I think he might be also pointing out TP's quote of everyone murders, etc. comment.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:27 PM ^
Dave Brandon said everyone who cares about Michigan Football has to support whomever he hires. So if you don't like Miles or Hoke or whomever we hire, quietly discontinue supporting Michigan or keep it to yourself. We are not Notre Dame.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:37 PM ^
Has he been hired yet? Didn't think so. Untill then I'll say what I want thanks.

of a middle schooler

I feel a melt down coming. Soon he will say he doesn't care about points and then total melt down.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:54 PM ^
I'll give him credit though, at least he's going down with his ship. When he started this thread him and I were about even on points....now not so much.

I have always wanted to visit FUMAN.

Hopefully we can send you there on the Domino's Jet. ...in the cargo bin with the pepperoni, though.
January 9th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
It's not too bad. The only bad thing about Bolivia is all the CAPTCHAs I have to enter.
January 9th, 2011 at 6:53 PM ^
Great, Cartman is an MGoBlogger...
I'm still hoping the rumors concerning Chucky are true... #1 on my list.
Miles.... eh. We could do worse, but we could do better.
January 9th, 2011 at 7:00 PM ^
I hear bolivia is nice this time of the year.

Are you serious TJ? "Dave Brandon says..." What, are you 10 years old?
January 9th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
Stop insulting my 10 year-old. She would never say it's okay to do something just because someone big told you to. You know, good touch/bad touch. That sort of thing.

been brought up three years ago and we wouldn't be in this mess.
January 10th, 2011 at 1:51 AM ^
I'm guessing there were some sort of internal problems the first time around that never allowed this to happen. With the RR firing, and a new AD with serious UM ties, I really hope he doesn't fuck this up.

Harbaugh has done some openly negative recruiting against Michigan at Stanford, but everyone seemed to want him. Whats the difference?
January 9th, 2011 at 6:03 PM ^
Could be because he has won a national championship and has consistently had success in the SEC.
Just my guess though. Call me crazy.
January 9th, 2011 at 7:10 PM ^
Exactly, he's averaging 10.33 wins a year, has had four 11+ winning seasons, and has won 5 out of 6 bowl games while at LSU.
January 9th, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
after MIles stayed at LSU and we hired Rich Rod every Michigan fan decided that Miles was a cheating SEC bum but we seem to be ignoring the facts. Along with his SEC success he did well at Oklahoma State with less talent than a lot of other teams in that conference (including beating a couple of very good Oklahoma teams). His teams play great defense (at least at LSU) and play well against the good teams. He is 8-4 against Auburn and Alabama, 3-3 against Florida, and 6-3 in bowl games. While he has some exhibited some less than stellar behavior let's not forget that Rich Rod came to Michigan with some question marks. Yes, he has earned the name Mad Hatter but I would prefer that mentality over the mad-punter or mad-conservative. People point to his "clock managment" problems but I would rather go for it all on fourth down than punt to the other team and watch them they bleed the clock out (how many games did we lose under Lloyd that we should have won). He is going to bring a great staff, recruit well nationally, and win. Don't forget he is one of only 6 active coaches (Saban, Paterno, Tressel, Stoops, Brown) who have won a national championship and he did it in the SEC. Personally, I was dreaming of Harbaugh but Miles is the logical second choice so lets hope DB can get it done so we can move on with this freak show.

do you want?
January 9th, 2011 at 6:03 PM ^
He wins football games. Sometimes he wins quite a few of them in a single season....in the SEC.

This could be the coach that tests the "winning solves everything" mantra that seems so prevalent. I have to think if LM were a girl, he'd be the one with thigh high black boots, big openly exposed tits, lots of make up, and kinda wild hair, a total slut. She would be fun to go out with and fun to be seen with in certain places. Introducing her to your parents and/or priest/pastor whatever could be interesting. And even though she rocks your world every night, she's so good that many came before you and many will probably come after you or perhaps while she is with you.
That's the allure of Les, more or less.

Of "If XXX was a woman"
The last thing I think about when i see a college coach is his boobs. In fact, it's not even the last thing i think about when i see a college coach. i think of a guy who works 20 hours a day and eats nothing but candy bars, washing them down with coffee and vodka.
College coaches to women is an analogy whose time has long since passed. I like to think of WOMEN when i think of women, and michigan beating the hell out of Ohio State when i think of college football coaches.
January 9th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
If I gather one thing from this post, it is that you have spent entirely too much time thinking about things you might do to/with Les Miles, if he was a woman.
