MS Paint - Thank you coach Rod
I made this anticipating his return, however in light of recent events, I feel it still caries the same weight as a fond farewell... Sorry it's a few days late, but I don't have an iPhone and therefore could not post...
Anyway thanks for giving it your all RichRod, Sorry the local media was after you from the start and never really gave you a chance, good luck wherever you end up... here's to you big guy!

knowing our kickers, he's calling for the extra point try?

So what's with the 'spam filter' trigger that keeps me from posting replies?
January 8th, 2011 at 10:11 PM ^
Yeah, thanks for the 3 years probation you left the program in....your staff & you as the HC are accountable...
January 8th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
He DOES account for Shoelace too. Just saying, in regards to your name.

I miss him

what you're talking about. 3 years ago we had the talent that Carr left us with...none. And while were on the subject, can we all stop using Carr's name with Bo's? Like they both left the same imprint on the program...give me a break. If you ask me 08 and 09 are on Carr, not RR.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
Carr won a national championship. I understand a lot of people on this board are frustrated with the state of recruiting when he left, but let's not make him out to be Satan's spawn, okay?
January 9th, 2011 at 12:11 AM ^
Yes, there was no talent in the 2005, 2006, or 2007 recruiting classes. None at all.
January 9th, 2011 at 1:50 AM ^
Cooper's last 4 recruiting classes yielded 27 NFL draft picks. Tressel also won a MNC with Cooper's players.
Carr's last 4 recruiting classes so far have yielded 7 NFL picks.

Rich Rod made some mistakes. I'm sure he would admit that. But he also had to put up with nonsense the likes of which no other Michigan coach has had to endure. It cost him his job. Don't kick a man when he's down.
January 9th, 2011 at 1:22 AM ^
And ask yourself if you really believe that.
EDIT: Here's the link: http://mgoblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/michigan-depth-chart-by-class.html I think we're in better shape today. Tell me why I'm wrong.

Thank you. And thank you for breaking up all the bull shit flying around here.

Looks a lot better now than a week ago..
January 8th, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
A week ago Dee Hart was looking forward to joining Denard in UM's backfield - and the decision was to keep RR or hire Harbaugh. How exactly do things look better today?
Brandon just f'd up. Big Time. He gave in to the self righteous, arrogant, Rosenberg like entitled haters.

While I'm also sad that RR couldn't figure things out I feel I have to ask you these questions:
1. After hiring 2 DC's that both under perfrormed here why would you trust RR to hire another Coach?
2. If, as it seems, RR did want to concern himself with the defense then why would he saddle a DC he hired with A) A staff of RR former defensive position coaches and B) a defensive system the DC wasn't familiar with/ knowledgable of?
I find it odd that people are calling for DB's head before he's even hired a new coach for the way he's handled this. Yet they wanted to let RR try to hire another DC after he already botched the job twice.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
1) I wouldnt, I would tell tell RR that I (as DB) am making the hire
2) Not sure what youre asking here but Gerg was not a fit with the rest of the D staff... for the next DC you pick a coach and let that coach fill in the rest of the staff.

That's really beautiful. Frame worthy. Would have made a GREAT T-Shirt.

Godspeed, Richard Rodriguez. You are the very definition of a Michigan Man.
January 9th, 2011 at 8:08 AM ^
The mutated abortion of it's definition makes my skin crawl. I never knew Bo, but I feel very comfortable that when he coined the phrase, RR would have fit the intending meaning perfectly.
Thanks for art TR, looks awesome.

Mark Dantonio, Jim Tressel. Joe Paterno, and Kirk Ferentz thank you too coach Rod.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
If you want to be a dick about it, that's up to you. Pointing out a guy's failures after he was fired is really pointless. Brandon made his decision, move on.
January 8th, 2011 at 10:42 PM ^
great work...thanks...that's a keeper
January 8th, 2011 at 10:43 PM ^
Great work for a guy who never had a chance in some people's eyes.

How is it clear to you that he was never going to have success? He won more games each year and finally had his offense in place. There was obviously still work to be done but based on the one statistic that really matters his tenure was trending upward.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
They're like battered women who can't stop going back to their abuser. Now that he's been imprisoned, they can't stop talking about what a great guy he is and how much they need a guy in their life.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:42 AM ^
Yea, because a guy working constant sixteen hour days to win games is just like a wife beater hurting his wife. Two completely different situations.
Whatever you think about the CC, I think it's basically beyond doubt the RR gave his all to better the team, where a wife beater just likes to hurt people.
January 8th, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
I've been a fan of your work for a while, TRSaunders. This is definitely quality. Well done sir.
January 9th, 2011 at 1:41 AM ^
and a good coach, just maybe not at Michigan. I still have a hard time though understanding why so many people feel the need to shit on him for stuff that really doesn't have to do with his coaching, rather than just looking at the coaching issues. In the end, if we would have won under him, none of the superfluous stuff would even be raised. People gotta need to dump, though.
I hope that he learns from his experience in Ann Arbor, and that he continues his rise as a coach. Just hope also that Michigan doesn't end up on the short end of an ass-whooping some day administered by a Rodriguez-coached team.
