Bo Pelini Vote

I hadn't thought of him until I listened to Brian's podcast, but he's my #1 choice right now by a land slide.

With all the returning starters I think we can still win the Big Ten next year.

1. Defense-With all the returning players he can make a big,  instant impact on the defense and with his rep and Michigan's name he could lock down some big name d recruits down the stretch and bring a few from his class to jump start our recruiting Mojo.

2. Offense- Don't think he is married to any one style but he ran as close an offense to ours as anyone last year.

3. Style-Similar emotional style to RR might help in player retention.

4. Dick Factor- He'll take the Freep and skull fuck them.

then I remember when we fired our "rebuilding" coach and it all comes back to me--the bad times, broken cherished records and streaks, divided fan base, crazy new coach scenarios............

All I can say to our new division rivals---this slump is temporary, know it hurts like hell, but Michigan will be back to being Michigan.........

and should be a great game in the Big House on 11-19.

Oh yeah, anybody got extra tickets?

I currently live in Omaha, and from my perspective you've gotta be smoking some serious, high quality crack if you think Pelini would leave NE on his own.  The only way he's leaving is if he's forced out for some reason.

especially considering he already said he wouldn't consider it even if he were contacted, but...

1. His teams are extremely undisciplined and don't keep their cool (see: A&M game). This is a reflection of Pelini. I would be surprised if he isn't fired from a job at some point for saying or doing something stupid.

2. The situation at Nebraska is the opposite of Michigan. If only they could find an OC. He keeps trying to get a West Coast coordinator to run a zone read offense, so they do a little of both and it has been awful. Sound familiar?

3. Taking over for Rich is very similar to taking over for Callahan. And while he was able to improve the defense rapidly, he tanked a very good offense within a couple of years (Taylor Martinez is very weak mentally. Very rarely do you see someone look so great against poor competition and so bad against good competition).

And ran into the Nebraska team, coaches and boosters at Sea World...i found their fans to be really nice, the players to be just like any other team of rowdy young men and their coaches (including Bo) to be complete a-holes. Boosters I spoke with didn't hold Pelini in much regard....liked him, didn't love him.
