Edsall Comments on Taking Over the Maryland Job

Submitted by ChalmersE on

With all the attention focused on what is Michigan's coaching situation, I suspect little attention has been paid to some of Randy Edsall's comments at yesterday's press conference announcing his hiring as Maryland's coach.  The first words out of his mouth were essentially these:  "We've got a lot of good players coming back and it's my job to maximize their qualities.  I'm not one to put a round peg itno a square hole."

With today's firing, one has to wonder if things might have turned out a little differently if RR had adopted that tact.

Yes, because the 2008 Michigan roster was loaded with such talent.  I mean, come on, Sheridan in the I-formation handing off to Kevin Grady would have been SOOO effective.  Can't you see those behemoth O-linemen who were just switched from the defensive line last week plowing through Wisconsin and OSU's front 7?  Easy stuff man, RR could have won at least 10 his first year, and that's being conservative.
