JH: Harbaugh Watch Day 1
In the interest of limiting the discussion to less than 1000 threads (and create a timeline that should be interesting to look back on in the future), please contain developments (non-monumental of course) to this post. Avoid sniping, pro or con, as Michigan undoubtedly pursues Jim after his successful Orange Bowl win.
Should be interesting.

Maybe this should be called "Harbaugh/Hoke Watch", just to make it seem like we're not putting all our eggs in one basket.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:23 AM ^
aren't we?
January 4th, 2011 at 12:27 AM ^
If there was any possibility DB wanted to hire Hoke or some other off the rack coach, Rodriguez would have been fired already.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:41 AM ^
Harbaugh is his top choice; that's pretty obvious. And so he has waited for JH to finish his season. That doesn't mean that Hoke isn't Plan B, or C, or whatever.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:50 AM ^
Why would he have to wait for Harbaugh's season to finish to fire Rodriguez (assuming Rodriguez is gone no matter what and Hoke and others are viable options in the event Harbaugh declines)? The Broncos didn't. Neither did the Niners. We also know we can get Hoke at pretty much any time we want to. When Michigan is the third or fourth job mentioned in association with Jim's name, I find it hard to believe that Brandon felt the need to leave Rodriguez in limbo in deference to Harbaugh but will fire him anyway even if Harbaugh isn't interested.
I think Brandon is a lot smarter than to go through all this and then all of a sudden announce Brady Hoke as the new head coach.

January 4th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
Please god, please bring JH to MI
January 4th, 2011 at 12:31 AM ^
the "who the hell is jim harbaugh" comment was a joke. Sorry for posting something worthy of being mgopoint raped.
January 4th, 2011 at 1:22 AM ^
Negged for posting an apology for a super obvious but still not neg-worthy post. Dude. Jimmy Hardballs is coming. Have some balls that are hard.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:59 PM ^
And the hysteria commences......
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
Get the feeling that Harbaugh is going to go for San Fran or Denver but i hope i am wrong.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Yeah, my intuition says were screwed. If so, what a shame that we've wasted so much energy on this subject. Then what, guess we'll wait some more. Arrrgggg!

You haven't been on the blog for awhile, have you? Someone should really catch you up....
January 4th, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
Seriously. Commence means "to begin," and we all know that this did not just start today.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:09 AM ^
But now, shit just got really really real. Shit's commenced.

inside of a thought bubble attatched to your avatar. Mr. Roger's hood, yo.

Step the fuck off my tiny trains, son. Bong. Bong.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
i dont care what side of the spectrum, i think the fan base is stoked that the Stanford bowl game is over and that a final resolution is imminent.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
I actually feel relaxed right now, being that one way or another, something's gonna happen. It's time for all this to be over.. and you know, I'm glad?
January 4th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
Nice.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
I love him so much
January 4th, 2011 at 12:10 AM ^
Until he spurns us and then he's a monster
January 4th, 2011 at 12:52 AM ^
"I love him so much"??
Guys are loving a guy who might not want to coach here and hate on a guy who probably hasn't slept in 3 years trying to win for Michigan.
This is not directed at you specifically, but this process has definitely made me see a side of Michigan Football fans I for one am not proud of. Rich Rod hasn't even been fired yet.
I would love for DB to keep RR just so all the JH Bandwagon-RR hating Michigan Fans' heads' explode. I will just laugh...
Here's to hoping our fans show some respect and support our Coach next time... Cheers MGoHaters
January 4th, 2011 at 1:48 AM ^
want to argue with you here, but I can't. You're right on many points. It kills me to see RR put in such a crappy position. I feel really bad for him, however, I think it's time to pull the trigger. If JH wants to come, he could become a legend in AA...
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
He kind of just ripped Rece, although he deserved it for asking that question.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
In a blaze of glory

what an awkward moment though
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
sidelines before the game and based on what he hears others saying, he believes he's going to the NFL.
HArbaugh certainly is doing a great job of dodging any questions about his future plans.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
...... I love RR, but after seeing that, wouldn't mind Harbaugh.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
please
January 4th, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
Harbaugh had the mic and was like "and now I want to name the MVP, Andrew Luck", setting it up so Davis can talk to him.
Davis responds with a question while JH is on the podium asking him about his coaching future.
JH replies "I just ask you to respect the game and the players..."
January 4th, 2011 at 12:29 AM ^
Just seeing the way he runs his team, and the team itself. But the one team Harbaugh lost to was Oregon....
Nevertheless, if Harbaugh was hired I would be pleased, but it should be either RR or Harbaugh. DB shouldn't make a change just to make a change, if Harbaugh is not available. Then we should keep RR.
January 4th, 2011 at 1:04 AM ^
I've seen a couple people say that and i completely agree.
That reminds me of 07 when I wanted either Les or Lloyd. And not long after that I was a huge Rrod supporter and was thankful we didn't get Les.
The "rrod" in this situation in '10 would be Hoke/Fitzgerald/someone unforeseen but there's no way i want any of that.
Harbaugh is the head coach or Rrod with new Defensive staff and a 2 yr extension so he can recruit like he should be able to recruit (Let's not forget the classes he's brought in under these circumstances the last 3 years).
Not that it matters but just for the record so there's no misinterpretation... i'm about 50/50 on this one, trying to hold on to some semblance of what i've staunchly supported RR with for the past 3 years.
January 4th, 2011 at 1:50 AM ^
Still don't understand the Miles hate train. Guy is a great coach. End of story.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
At this point, I really don't care who our coach is next year, so long as it's Harbaugh or Rich Rod and not DOOM.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
I could get used to this whole Character and Cruelty thing.
Good idea. The kind of buzz the guy is generating, this thread will soon be the online equivalent of the Library of Congress.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
Doesn't Tirico live in Ann Arbor and he was betting Harbaugh to the NFL, is that a bad LUCK?
January 4th, 2011 at 12:17 AM ^
he lives in Barton Hills I believe... he's a member there at least
January 4th, 2011 at 1:05 AM ^
But a Syracuse grad

JH has officially made the media his bitch. Win, lose, or draw, he is now an American god.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
of Ali doing the rope-a-dope.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Did you see how quickly he ducked out of the questions after the game? Obviously he doesnt want to talk about where he is going.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
stole-goody's avatar-post in 3..2...
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
I have to say that Harbaugh is giving the reporters the stiff arm about his future, and I like it. Whether he picks us or the NFL, he will make your grandmama wanna get out of her wheelchair and play for him.
January 4th, 2011 at 12:03 AM ^
Given how he pre-emptively avoided the opportunity to even be questioned about his future after the game (gave Tafoya 5 seconds and then pawned her off on Luck and shut down question on podium) there is no way he is going to be back at Stanford next year. Hopefully this means DB has done his work and there is nothing for JH to even decide at this point.
Is this where I say book it?
January 4th, 2011 at 12:40 AM ^
You Raback it!
