Orange Bowl Open Thread (probably unavoidably CC)

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
I mean, with all the broadcast talk, the Gator Bowl should have been labeled CC. After today, I don't think it's avoidable. But they're actually playing a football game too.

Not to fan the flames...but does it look like Stanford is starting to wear out VT? I mean, I can see VT coming back because Stanford is still sloppy with the football, and VT likes to capitalize on those types of things, but the end of the 3rd is coming at a good time for VT.

there's a deal and a gentlemen's hand-shake in place.  Jim has impeccable timing.  Too many offers.  If he comes though rest assured, he really wants to come.  And that would be beautiful.  I also believe that we're not that bad with another year of RR.  Our schedule is favorable and winning will bring the real fans inline.  Especially seeing Denard and that offense.

that even if the offense takes large strides, UM is likely to lose 5 games.

ND is a toss up. MSU has owned RR as has OSU and Wisconsin.. Now add Nebraska. I see 5 losses right there with this sad sack defense.

Defense wins championships, folks. Unless RichRod finds an elite defensive coordinator(who cna hire his own assistants and run his own scheme), I don't see how anyone can expect greatness from this staff. Offense is but one third of the game.

We better open up the checkbook and pay whatever it takes.  If we built the luxury boxes to create extra revenue streams, then it's time to put them to work.  If it takes 6 million dollars a year then so be it.  Michigan is in a rough place right now and there is only one homerun candidate who will unite the fan case and get the media to start peddling a positive vibe.

Yes, yes, yes. I am hoping right now that all of the rumor-mill shit is just his people trying to create real fear with the Michigan folks, to get them to up the ante.

Michigan really is his best choice. It's his biggest job yet by far, and the NFL will always be there. Plus, the League is littered with guys who were the Next Big Thing that flamed out with crappy teams. Give us a good ten years, JH, set up the program, and you can go to the NFL while still in your 50s.

Mainly posting because I have to +1 this when I'm not on the App. But did that play action qualify for you?

I gotta say, I really respect the way the broadcast team has treated the CC issue, making this game about the kids and not the coaches, though I suspect they'll probably spend a segment talking about it as the game winds down.

1.  Tirico's been hanging on Stanford's johnson all game.  It's like it's Big Brother and if anything bad's ever said about the place, hell's unleashed.

2.  I've seen more people at a Hootie and The Blowfish concert....in 2006...than I see at the Orange Bowl tonight.
