It will be nice to see Denard next year have finesse similar to Luck.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
Not to fan the flames...but does it look like Stanford is starting to wear out VT? I mean, I can see VT coming back because Stanford is still sloppy with the football, and VT likes to capitalize on those types of things, but the end of the 3rd is coming at a good time for VT.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
The general pace of the game favors Stanford.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
Fan away. It is ok to want what you are watching in Ann Arbor next year. No one will blame you.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
that's crazy talk!
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:42 PM ^
That'd be quite a wide load on the highway
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
That Luck scramble and throw to the TE...that young man is ready for The League. Awesome play!
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
I supported RR, but we can't miss this opportunity
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
there's a deal and a gentlemen's hand-shake in place. Jim has impeccable timing. Too many offers. If he comes though rest assured, he really wants to come. And that would be beautiful. I also believe that we're not that bad with another year of RR. Our schedule is favorable and winning will bring the real fans inline. Especially seeing Denard and that offense.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
that even if the offense takes large strides, UM is likely to lose 5 games.
ND is a toss up. MSU has owned RR as has OSU and Wisconsin.. Now add Nebraska. I see 5 losses right there with this sad sack defense.
Defense wins championships, folks. Unless RichRod finds an elite defensive coordinator(who cna hire his own assistants and run his own scheme), I don't see how anyone can expect greatness from this staff. Offense is but one third of the game.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
Stanford played well in the first half, but they have really turned it on in the second half so far. Talk about some adjustments being made.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
Stanford looks to me like a team with a lot of disciplined, smart, upperclassmen. Damn, that's nice.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
But their QB is only a sophomore.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
Redshirt sophomore.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
Two year starter and three years in the program.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
We better open up the checkbook and pay whatever it takes. If we built the luxury boxes to create extra revenue streams, then it's time to put them to work. If it takes 6 million dollars a year then so be it. Michigan is in a rough place right now and there is only one homerun candidate who will unite the fan case and get the media to start peddling a positive vibe.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
i will always give you a +1 for your user name and tag
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:16 PM ^
It just might be that Mr. Harbaugh knows a thing or three about coaching QB's.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:16 PM ^
this game might say more about the ACC than Stanford or JH.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
But we've heard how bad the PAC-10 is other than Oregon too.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:16 PM ^
let JH come home. I'm liking what I'm seeing from Stanford right now.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
Yes, yes, yes. I am hoping right now that all of the rumor-mill shit is just his people trying to create real fear with the Michigan folks, to get them to up the ante.
Michigan really is his best choice. It's his biggest job yet by far, and the NFL will always be there. Plus, the League is littered with guys who were the Next Big Thing that flamed out with crappy teams. Give us a good ten years, JH, set up the program, and you can go to the NFL while still in your 50s.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:17 PM ^
Why would Luck come back
With each throw he locks up more dollars
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
Man oh man what a throw by Luck. This kid is tremendous.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
Funny. I don't see any more of those "Stanford is overrated and didn't beat anyone" threads.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:24 PM ^
They played killed them...
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:18 PM ^
For all those throwing shots at "how bad" Harbaugh's team is doing tonight...
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:28 PM ^
What? We're five minutes away, tops, from the running up the score cripes. I'm breathless in anticipation
Probably after Maricec tosses a fullback option pass. Which would be pretty sweet at this point
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
You called it. Well, minus the FB option pass.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
Mainly posting because I have to +1 this when I'm not on the App. But did that play action qualify for you?

Have to give you credit...you're an equal opportunity tweeker.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
Just after that touchdown (great throw), they briefly showed John Elway on the sidelines.
Speculation, commence!
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
He's one of the honorary captains in the game.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
But why can't we rumor monger about it a bit more, since it's SO much fun?
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
DB wearing an Elway mask.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
And he's seeing Harbaugh's offense school Frank Beamer, a living legend at VT.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:22 PM ^
I am assuming at this point the Skovs are tripletts
Dude is in one every play
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
I wish someone, though not Michigan, would give Gruden a coaching job.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:23 PM ^
Stanford's LBs are all over the field making plays. Can't wait for that.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:25 PM ^
Tyrod's playing a good game considering. I'm surprised the pressure hasn't turned him into a Jacory Harris INT machine.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
Don't speak too soon haha
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
I gotta say, I really respect the way the broadcast team has treated the CC issue, making this game about the kids and not the coaches, though I suspect they'll probably spend a segment talking about it as the game winds down.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:36 PM ^
With that TD they are going to run out of other things to talk about fast.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
See? 5:30 to pay and they're starting to get into it now...
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:43 PM ^
And here it is.
Interesting, Tirico didn't even mention Michigan at all. And he lives in Ann Arbor.
EDIT: Comes back to it almost as an afterthought. Hrm.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:28 PM ^
1. Tirico's been hanging on Stanford's johnson all game. It's like it's Big Brother and if anything bad's ever said about the place, hell's unleashed.
2. I've seen more people at a Hootie and The Blowfish concert....in 2006...than I see at the Orange Bowl tonight.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:31 PM ^
Can't really blame VT too much, they did start class today.
January 3rd, 2011 at 11:32 PM ^
You were at a Hootie concert?
