Orange Bowl Advice

Submitted by Ziff72 on

Just had a thought pop into my head.   If you are as tired of all this crap as I am I suggest you watch some horrible reality show or a college basketball game until about 10:00 then fire up your dvr and enjoy the Orange Bowl.   With the DVR you can block out Millen and enjoy the game since during most of the play calls Millen is silent.  This will also limit your exposure to the surely endless talk on Harbaugh to a minimum and you can actually sit and enjoy the game.

This message brought to you by Michigan Fans trying to get thru the day without killing people randomly.

PS Anybody else that far into Schadenfreude that they want Harbaugh to lose by 50 tonight.   I like RR and Harbaugh and generally would root for him pretty hard, but if I could shut my neighbor or the guy at the gym up for 1 second about the guy I'd be much happier.

I'd rather our potential future coach wins his BCS bowl game to prove that he is as good as we think, rather than provide you with personal satisfaction because you want your acquaitances to not be as pleased with the possibility of hiring a good coach.

You do understand that regardless of Harbaughs performance tonight it doesn't "prove" he is as good as we think.

I think RR should stay, but if he goes I want Harbaugh.   If Harbaugh's team gets waxed tonight because of turnovers or they aren't focused because their coach is leaving or just because of pure randomness it proves nothing as to how he will do here.

Sincerely R. Rodriguez and the 2006 Sugar Bowl

Don't be fooled.  VT is a very good team.  Their version of "the horror" was pretty fluky (short week, they actually allowed JMU coaches to view practices and scout their player camps).  They then went out and rolled the ACC, which has looked pretty good so far in bowl season.  I think there's a good chance VT wins this game, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's in convincing fashion.

Have you reviewed VT's schedule this year? East Carolina? Boston College? Duke? Virginia? CMU?

Personally, I think the Hokies are a bigger fraud than Sparty.

I think the Cardinal violates the Hokies unless JH is completely out to lunch daydreaming about his next coaching job, wherever that may be.

...Orange Bowl dilemma:

  1. Root for VT since my son is a freshman there and is home on break
  2. Root for Stanford because Jim/Bo may be Michigan's future HC and I want him to look as awesome as possible if/when that announcement is made
  3. Root for Stanford but pretend to root for VT

I think I'll select number three.

Watching Stanford is enjoyable.  Whether they win or lose (I'm thinking win), watching Stanford is pretty neat.  It's like stepping into a Michigan time machine and setting it for pre-RR.
